Rather than Mario Bros, I would say Antonball gets its inspiration on Mario Clash (the Virtual Boy sequel to Mario Bros)
Actually, what the inspiration actually comes from is Punchball Mario Bros. When you compare the two, they're almost identical.
Actually, it comes from an old officially licensed PC port/sequel of Mario Bros. made by Hudson Soft called Punch Ball Mario Bros. The mechanic is exactly the same and one of the stages in Antonball is identical too.
there is a WarioWare microgame that uses first-person realistic arms wearing Wario's biker gloves. In that game you crush apples by tapping A. There needs to be a mod of treasure tech that adds those in for the fisticuffs
the moment i heard pizza tower music...
How come I haven't found this channel until now? Y'all are underated as all hell SMH
While watching this video I realised how much I freaking love escape sequences in games. It's so exhilarating rushing back the way you came! "H-H-H-HURRY UP!"
Actually pizza tier has inspired me to make my own game, being a wario land and rayman 1 styled game
Haven't coded anything yet cuz I'm stupid, but I have been slowly showcasing music on my channel
Let us know how you get on!
That sounds really cool! I hope it turns out well!
Subbed.
There’s also Metroid Fusion. It used the same game engine, and a lot of the same background and platform assets.
I love it when AntonBlast said “ITS BLASTING TIME” and blasted all over the place
Can relate to Wario, I too have to daily turn off a big tap.
Wario: "so Nintendo how about giving me a new game?"
Nintendo: "more Wario Ware games it is."
Wario: "doh I misded."
Next step: The Warioware-like (aka Microgames compilation)
I'm subbing to this guy cause he is exploring something that I've seen in these games as well: Their likeness to Wario 4 (which is a very great game like for real!) and I'm glad that other people are noticing it too!
As a Wario Land series fan, I find this video surprising in a really good way.
Remember when Kojima was astroturfing the idea that Death Stranding would create a new genre of game called "Strand games"?
And he we are in 2022 discussing a genre inspired by Wario.
Death Stranding is an Open World I don't see what genre it created.
I didn't know similar games could exist, thx for the video
Pizza Tower looks very promising!
While I love Wario World and Wario Land:Shake It! like there's no tomorrow and I'm quite surprised WL4 has gained so much of a following (last time I checked, WL3 was considered the "best"), this video has so much effort put into it that I love it.
Will also check out some of these games.
Holy hell, I sure as hell love the style of Treasure Tech; I happen to like the Serious Sam games, which ended up rewarding your recklessness in SS3, so the freaking fast brawling & throwing enemies around looks like a lot of fun. Also like the aesthetics. It's great you're sharing about these games, I also wishlisted Antonball!
