    Excellent demo with clarity. One doubt- when we pre assign members while scheduling, what actually happens when they join the meeting? Will they go straight to assigned rooms when admitted from waiting room? Will they show up in main room when admitted from waiting room? Thanks

    I followed your instructions and they were incredibly helpful to our team! Thank you so much! When we actually tested it, one of the people for some reason did not automatically get put into a room. We checked their email address was correct and they have a zoom account for sure. But we kept having this problem that this person would end up staying in the main room when everybody else was put into breakout rooms. Can you suggest a video to watch to troubleshoot this?

    Scott, this is incredibly clear and helpful. One Question: Does the requirement for a person to have a Zoom account apply to BOTH names entered directly and entered through a CSV file?

    • @Simpletivity
      @Simpletivity  3 года назад

      Yes, that is correct, Mark. Regardless of the entry method, in order for pre-assignment to work, they need to have a Zoom account.

      @@Simpletivity Another question. I have a group of people and some don't want to have a zoom account; others do. Can I preassign everyone and will the ones with zoom accounts go straight to their rooms while the other ones I'll need to assign on the spot? @@stephaniebilodeau7413 I think that this CSV file is just a handy shortcut for companies etc. I just use the emails and if they have a zoom account they go directly into the breakout room but if they don’t have a zoom account I manually put them in. It took a little while but I think I have it down, if you can practice it would be great.

    I'm not sure I would use this feature given the key condition that the user must have a Zoom account and I must know the email assigned to that account. I've found it very easy to create the breakout rooms while teaching then move students around if I think there's a better match-up. Another option I like is "allow participants to choose their breakout room" - this is quite efficient when students are working in project teams that don't change throughout the semester. I just create the rooms, rename them to the project team, select the option that allows participants to choose, then when I open the breakout rooms students can go right to their team. It works really well.

    I host speed dating events. Let's say I need 20 breakout rooms, ten Men and ten women. The ten men need to stay in the stay room at all time, but the ten women need to rotate to each of the ten men rooms. How would that work?

    • @Simpletivity
      @Simpletivity  11 месяцев назад

      Creating a setup for your speed dating event on Zoom is quite doable. You can set up 10 breakout rooms for the men, and the 10 women can rotate through these rooms. Here's a simple plan:
      Set up 10 breakout rooms for the men. You can do this when scheduling your Zoom meeting.
      Assign each man to a specific breakout room. You can manually assign them (I'd recommend numbering each room so the women know which room to go to next.
      For the women, you can either have them join the main meeting room initially or assign them to a specific room for their first "date."
      Every few minutes, announce a rotation. For instance, every 5 minutes, have the women move to the next breakout room.
      You can use Zoom's "Broadcast a message to all" feature to notify everyone when it's time to rotate.
      Ensure you have a clear schedule or timer to keep things organized.
      This way, the men stay in their rooms while the women rotate through each of them. It's a simple but effective way to facilitate your speed dating event. Good luck!
