Hi everyone! I made a mistake in the last question, 11.(c) at 01:09:19. I wrote 13 instead of 133 when I multiplied 2 with 66.5. So the correct working should be: 2y - 133 = -x + 12 2y = -x +145 Sorry for this mistake and thanks to @tsohlemahlelebe3973 for pointing this out in the comments! :)

5:56 you can also expand with combinations.(x+a)^6=…+ (6C2)(x^4)(a^2)+… Giving 15x^4a^2 and same for the other one At 8:16 you can also expand the a, b, c and compare the coefficients

I did search on the internet but i don't understand a single thing since the method we learn is simple and easier. I feel like we've done this before but i just can't seem to solve it. PLEASE 🙏
Quick comment - may already have been noted, In question 2, for (ax+s)^4 you have the coeffient incorrectly shown as 4C(ax)^2(s)^2, this should be 6C(ax)^23^2 which leads to 54a^2 (which you did get)
They are asking for the 2 tangent equations which are parallel to the normal , we found normal gradient in part b , hence that gradient will be equal to gradient of the two tangents , now we need the points where the two tangents are passing through the circle , hence to find that we can equate the circles equation with the equation of the diameter , because the diameter of circle is touching the two tangents, therefore by equating the circles and diameters equation you can find the points of intersection, now you have the gradient and points , therefore finally you can make two equations for the two tangents.... Hope this helps you out ..... I know it's 2 months since you asked this question 😅 but here you go ...
Everyone has their own opinion but realistically there were probably like 3 parts that were really challenging. Which probably added upto like 12-14 marks. 49/75 feels way too low for an A.....
Thats the thing though, they set a threshold which is for ex 65/75 its with the knowledge that the test difficulty is just ok and there are 0 or 1 superhard questions. It doesn’t mean that that there is a direct proportion, well there is, but the “y intercept” of that proportion is already shifted by ten marks, because if for an A you need 65/75 when there are only 0-5 marks that are hard to get, then as you said with 15 marks, the threshold should decrease, with the net difference being 65-15+5=55. I kinda do agree with what you’re saying though, because 55 seems a lot more fair than 49 following this logic because realistically there might not have even been 15 marks difficult, rather maybe even 8 if you only count 11c and 10c but thats a bit harsh than how cambridge usually is so it made sense for the threshold to be in the range that it is.
i solved it first without watching this video and faced 13 marks which were challenging but if partial marks are added I would only lose like 8-10 ... this paper actually broadened my concepts tho @@haadyabdul1683
