Since I was a kid of 7 years old I’ve been singing these hymns in church. I was born in the Philippines and my parents introduced us these hymns at home. I am now 75 years old and still love these hymns. These helps me remind of my young days in that that small church. What a blessing to hear them this early morning. My parents and 3 sibling brother and sisters are now gone. I’m praying for our youngest brother who embraced the world that he may return to the fold. My brother is now 60 years old and live in Cleveland, Ohio and I’m at Pella, Iowa.

I have definitely have not arrived,I have yet a long ways to go.But as I learn to get closer and closer to Jesus I find that he is right here with me ready to help with all my troubles. 半世紀以上前、初めてバプテスト派教会に行ったときの牧師の説教は覚えていないが、ファニー・クロスビー氏の聖歌は覚えている。
私は、1973年にイエスを救い主として信じてクリスチャンになったのだが、その時の招きの曲は、
ファニー・クロスビー氏の「イエスは汝を呼び給う」であった。
♪「帰れや帰れや(神のふところに)、帰れやと主は今、呼び給う」♬、50年が過ぎた今でも、その聖歌から聴こえて来た、神の声が忘れられない。
無論、私は、ファニー・クロスビー氏に会ったことはないが、写真でお見受けする限り、私の感性では美人とは思えない。
そして、盲人。
人格破綻者のモーツァルトもそうだが、時に、神は、人の外見とは正反対の賜物を与えられる。
目の見えないファニー・クロスビー氏の内面にどのような葛藤があったのかは知る由もないし、彼女の実生活もまるでわからない。
しかし、彼女の人生がどうあれ、私のクリスチャン生活には、彼女がつくった聖歌がとてもとても大きく貢献している。
