Nice! Steel wool + 9V battery make a good fire starter when camping.

    Very cool... Thanks.
What exact solder and flux do you use? Every time I try it the silver just turns into balls, doesn't stick and the solder just crusts up... It's always a mess... when it doesn't destroy the piece i'm working on... 😀
I'm using stay silv and plumbing solder...
    Thanks again...!

That's more of a tin/lead coating. I do this with a brand new penny when I do a copper project, like curved standing seam copper panels. I solder the penny of the current year on to my work somewhere. For the next roofers..!!

I found a silver plated large date 1982 penny. It is not worth more than $0.01, but I kept it just as a curiousity.

I'm not sure I'd be dipping the coin in a drinking glass since the solder has lead in it. You will have to make sure you don't use the glass to drink out of.
