@@thisisyourtransmission 215k when the stock transmission went out. Then 219 when this level 4 65e went out. Both became with 2nd gear slipping then 2nd and 4th are completely gone. Just 2 extra neutrals
I kind of have the same issue with no second however every other gear is shifting perfect including 4th I did run a scan tool on it while driving and it said 1 - 2 shift valve malfunction I didn't think these PCMS could detect mechanical failures inside the transmissions? 2000 4L60E 4x4
@Thisisyourtransmission Did you not have Overdrive as well ???? What was the fluid like ? Was it burned and had particles floating in it giving evidence of the broken band ???
Where are you located? Can I bring my vehicle to you? I have had my trans built 8 times. This shop I take it to is apparently lost. I need someone that can troubleshoot why I keep losing 3rd gear.
That would also cause no 4th gear. Which would be very simple to diagnose.
So if my truck doesn’t get 2nd nor 4th my band is broken?
Bronze is a bushing or clutch material.
I’ve lost 2 and then 4th gear on a stock and built 4l60e. Both engine modified in the same truck. Neither lasted long

I did not try to go into 4th gear.
If you had a broken band you wouldn't have forth either would you?
I'm not sure. I did not have to go that far. If it did not shift into 2nd gear, then that is where I stopped.

How can you determine if the band is broken for sure without removing the Tranny?

Not sure.
That would cause a no 2nd AND 4th. Very different from just a no 2nd
I did not have to get to the no 4th gear because the 2nd gear was the first to slip.
What would be the cause of no second only?
Just installed a tran that has the same issue 1 and 3 only.
