15:50 when i see this fight, then Neutron and Electron likes to do co-op attacks. That poor Proton only did only 1 co-op attack so he had to be set out of service first:(
although functionally this game does not bring much new to the table, i must say that the bosses were the main stand out element for me here. Especially the true final boss. I have always loved when a player has to fight multiple bosses at once (especially if those bosses have been encountered before)
It's a lot of fun and I'd recommend it. I was given an early key so I've been playing it since yesterday. I'm at 99% completion and scrounging for the remaining secrets.

I used the 10% crit chance/faster attack speed/increased length for red chips. Of blue/green I think the only one that mattered was increased dash length.

The boss fights overall aren't that difficult. The virus and creators are likely the most challenging, although the virus did have its health nerfed a bit and damaging it during its phase screams can have you skip phases if done right. Even with that the game is a good bit of fun.
I love the game but foe sole reason i cant progress after Virus. I defeated it 4 times now and i got the message from the blue figure but everytime i load back in from the menue its the state before figting Virus and the corruption gets sucked in. I did not get the secret message again.
Pogoing bosses doesn't get as much height as Hollow Knight but is doable for many bosses (especially if you pogo at the edge of their hitbox to avoid falling into them). Even then I don't recall exclusively pogoing bosses in Haiku - could you explain which boss or bosses you're finding problematic?

Unfortunately, it is just not possible, or at least not with a usual blade. As far as I remember a long blade chip doesn't allow that either. It's been a while since I've played but I remember pogoing still working that way when I came back for the DLC, so it should be totally doable. The only things that should have been patched are the teleporting spider boss and the invisible block on the final boss.
I saw that in the Proton boss fight you weren't bothered by the heat so you could use the space disruptor if he splashed the floor with magma. Do you need a power up or something like that?
Of all the bosses I've encountered in this game, The Virus is the most difficult. He is fast and you can hardly see what kind of attack he is going to perform. Either he does a bubble dash to the floor and then moves another one to the wall or he does that dash and a stab of the virus on top. I got lucky that his health was nerved in an earlier update.
Probably in the 8-9 range. It's definitely a solid game and the difficulty is good for someone who enjoys Metroidvanias or wants to get into the genre.
Just finished the game. Had a very good time playing it! Spoiler alert.... So the creators brought the infection upon the green brained thing which became the "virus" ? I did not quite understand the ending i think. help
@@CrankyTemplar Oh i just realised something. The betrayed creator found in that big tree must be the one that got betrayed by the other three creators for some reason. I am not sure what the physical form of the virus is though, whether it is the recycled body of the initial innocent creator found in the large tree or a separate shell (maybe a 5th creator?!?!)
All good, it is intended as a future boss but I haven't heard there was an update yet (and given how long it took for me to do corrupt mode, I'm not always on top of checking).
Is it me or does the downward slash seem really inconsistent and unreliable? In that it only seems to work randomly. Most of the time even though I'm holding the down button, I'll still just perform a regular attack and end up falling into the enemy and taking damage. Other times I seem to do the exact same thing, and I'll be able to pogo off the enemy like Scrooge McDuck. I didn't even realize it was something that was possible until I saw this video because the 2 attacks look almost identical, except for the very slight difference in how the "slash" pattern in the air looks. So unless you're looking really closely, or you land a hit, there's no way to even realize you've performed the technique. It's frustrating because this is a fantastic game otherwise. But not being able to properly use the downward slash and getting stuck so bad on such otherwise simple bosses is, well, frustrating. I'm really hoping there's something I'm missing in regards to timing or something. That way I can learn what I was doing wrong and get the full enjoyment of the game. But every platforming game I've ever played with a downward attack that lets you bounce off of the enemies usually just requires you to hold down while pressing attack.
I didn't have much problem pogoing but I did notice a bit of a delay with the downward swing that required me to swing a hair early to ensure I didn't land on the enemy and take damage.
@@CrankyTemplar Yes, I think that's what might be happening to me in this case. I'm waiting until I'm too close to the enemy, where I should be executing it higher up. But it feels almost like I have to be holding down for a few frames before it'll let me perform the pogo move. But yeah it's probably just a matter of getting the timing right. I should just go around killing as many things with pogoing as I can until I get it right.
Apologies for the inconvenience but boss fights will be one of the things that may get players to try a game (and seeing a boss on the thumbnail may interest people in seeing what the fight is like or whether it's a game that would interest them). This particular thumbnail doesn't show endgame bosses or scenes from the endings and wouldn't spoil much. I do try to avoid excessive spoilers but boss compilations and endings will generally spoil things to some degree and there's not much avoiding that if you're looking at a game on RUclips. wait like i dont understand the truth . and i also dont understand the weird pc scene. like whats the end game lore? i dont get it. i only get that theres a evil virus sealed away that still manages to corrupt the whole arcadia. we beat all the bosses , save the creators and then we beat the virus. but then were suddenly seeing some weird 4th creator and then were fighting the good non corrupted creators. like i guess my smol brain missed something. i hope a lore video eventually comes out about this game , afterall hk has a bunch of lore vids.
The creators were definitely one of the hardest bosses I've ever beaten in gaming, and just know I played stuff like hollow knight, islets shovel knight etc. But I love challenge so beating them was pretty cool
As someone who's played both games, the creators are a mid level hollow knight boss in terms of difficulty, I beat them first try, and personally think the virus is harder, doesn't make them any less fun though.
The first two are in the abandoned wastes, the battery is between the central core and pinion's expanse. The buzz saw is in the factory facility. Sunken Wastes is where you'll find the worm. Forgotten Ruins for the Door Mimic, Mischievous is in Pinion's Expanse. Helm Crawlers in the Water Ducts. Bird Turret in the Factory. Proton is in the Blazing Furnace, Electron in the Central Core, and Neutron in the Last Bunker.
I did upload the Atom fight and a deathless corrupt playthrough but as the other bosses have the same moves it would be kind of a repeat for most bosses.
helm crawlers, the map, it just feels reeks of hollow knight. I know the creator said it inspired him but it seems like he just took ideas. it's not a good look
I always felt it took more inspiration from Kunai but a number of folks in the Hollow Knight community have found this to be an enjoyable game. Shorter and easier than Hollow Knight for sure but still worth checking out.
A very fun and chill game. Great contribution to the Metroidvania genre

Movement with jumping attack on bosses, doesn’t exist in the game. You somehow beat every boss using it.

Yes, there's a heat chip that I think is in the last bunker that further improves heat resistance to allow you to use abilities and dash.

Hey, I need advice. I beat the door mimic but I died right as I beat it and now I can't go through the hole it makes, my character just disappears.
That seems to be a bug others encountered. I think you can get into the area from the water ducts (you'll need the sealant upgrade for 200 parts).
@@CrankyTemplar Ah, never mind. I restarted my game save and killed it normally. It worked. How can I get the sealant upgrade, by the way?
It's in the Central Core that requires rolling to get. You can also get the heat upgrade at the same time (they both stack and are permanent).

just go to the parts of the map that you haven't explored yet. It'll all come together.
The final boss is in the mainframe vault and the special boss after that is in the forgotten ruins.
