  • Morphology In Linguistics | Morpheme |Branches | Urdu / Hindi
Dear English lovers in today's video I'm going to talk about another branch of linguistics. So let's get started! 😍🦋
Morphology is a branch of linguistics that studies the structure of words.
    - Morphology: It's the study of how words are formed and how they can be broken down into smaller meaningful units called morphemes.
    - Morpheme: A morpheme is the smallest meaningful unit of a word. It can be a whole word or a part of a word that carries meaning.
    - Types of Morphemes:
    1. Free Morphemes: These are standalone words that can convey meaning on their own, like "book" or "run."
    2. Bound Morphemes: These are morphemes that cannot stand alone and need to be attached to other morphemes to convey meaning. Examples include prefixes like "un-" (as in "unhappy") and suffixes like "-s" (as in "books").
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any more questions. 😊📚
