Question… We (our club) operate field day from our club meeting HQ where we set up several stations consisting of phone and cw. We also have our own radio room at the county EOC that rarely gets used. I know I’m running out of time and need answers fast. Our club HQ class is obviously “A” working under the club call sign. If we get a few operators to put in 2 hours at the EOC we would then have 2 separate classes working under 1 call sign. Is this possible. I’ve quickly looked over rules and the application and cannot find any options for this. Will we need to get a special call sign for our EOC Station or just turn in a special application under our call sign each using its specific class (A - F) Your video has set this in motion.. I’m hoping you can help us make it reality… Thanks, WW3HAM
Think of each callsign as a station, an installation, a communication facility. It will thus be a single class. The sites are separate, so your members are staffing two stations. That will lower the activity logged at either station but that doesn't really matter. Field Day is an open house, not a contest! The good news is that the station at the EOC will probably be class 1F, so people will have a chance to work A and F, and you've got a chance to engage your emergency management staff which should get you some points for the EOC station. For bonuses like the bulletin you'll want to be sure that everyone understands that what they do at one site counts only at that site. Even if it's the same person copying the bulletin they can't copy most of it at one, get fills at the other and count it at both. They're independent operations. Best of luck. Let us know how it goes!
@@KD8TTE Thank you, I will let you know how it goes but between now and then, please be prepared for an additional question or two. I’ll only ask when I can’t find an answer on my own or when the answers I find aren’t making sense. Remember… I’d like to be able to answer our members questions before they are asked. Thanks 73, WW3HAM
