What is so scary about the graphics at 0:39? I would think the New Millennium graphics at 6:42 - 7:19 are the scariest as the Arch 5 looks like a blood shot eye coming toward the tv screen. Or then again, it looks like a peacock eyeball.
Pretty much everybody watched Channel 5 in the 80's and 90's. I'm stunned when I go back home to see Mike Bush still on KSDK news, now as an anchor. He was the goofball sports guy. Gotta say, he looks good too. So does Art Holiday, that guys been there for 40 years. Bob Richards, the local weather guy, was loved - and his suicide a scandal that people talk about to this day. Man, it is tough to see the female anchors age though. Wonder what happened to Deanne Lane, I think she got sick of waiting for Karen Foss to retire.
No, Deanne moved up to Karen's anchor spot when Karen retired in 2006. Since 2004, at least, Karen had been grooming Deanne to take over. In 2009, Deanne left when Gannett (TEGNA) started cutting employee pay and making them go on furloughs while the Company's top brass took the bulk of the quarterly profits. This was back when television broadcast groups started giving anchor and reporter positions to fresh out of college, younger graduates with a few years of experience, at the same time cutting union workers from television staffs. Deanne went onto become the VP of Communications (Director of Media) at Centene Corporation and Karen became the VP of Public Relations at AmerenUE. Karen is now retired living in New Mexico. Karen came back to the station to much fanfare in 2017 for KSDK's 70th anniversary. Only veterans left there are Art, Mike, Kay, Scott, Frank, Rene and Kelly who returned two years after she left to go to Channel 10 in Sacramento, CA. Another veteran news anchor favorite, Jennifer Blome, retired a few years ago. Jennifer became the Director of Public Education for the St. Louis area Human Society. Since she has retired from that post and can be heard on the radio, in the mornings on KTRS.
You're watching NewsChannel 5: Where the News Comes First.

And FYI, WXIX 19 in Cincinnati originally commissioned Prime News by Newsmusic Central.
it was during the intro of NewsChannel 5 back in '93, started to put the closed captioning logo

Uhh, WXIX commissioned Prime News, not KSDK, so the KSDK version is crap and came second, the WXIX version was first.
