This is kind of sad. This is probably the 2D Mario game with the most effort put into it for a while now, and yet the bosses in this game are still really bad. It’s one thing to have Bowser Jr. once or twice, it’s another to have him be practically the only boss.
Yeah I totally agree. When the game was still working up to release, I purposely avoided as many spoilers as possible ( which isn’t something I usually do ) because I was really excited for the bosses. But when I saw that they were all effectively bowser Jr I was really upset. I mean sure there are the big enemies but you don’t even fight them, you just escape them. And don’t even get me STARTED on the final boss fight. The level is rated as a 5 star difficulty rating but I didn’t die ONCE in the actual fight. Its just jumping to a rythem into a big rock. And the worst part has to be that it doesn’t even have a 2nd phase. Like final bosses are meant to be bigger and grander bosses, not just different and stylish ones.
probably honestly would have been good as a final final boss, like the previous 2d games, while I will admit that it would end up being a bit too long that way, it does feel like something's missing without the final boss part 2

Smackrel, konk, hoopycats, statues and robots aren’t creative or bosses. They’re just obstacles. King boo just follows you around but he doesn’t attack. You just have to keep jumping. Kinda lame
How do you miss the koopalings in this game? They are the "bosses" among many quotes from Super Mario Wonder. They don't feel like bosses but rather minigames and the only real boss is Bowser JR and Bowser but the rest are meh, we didn't know what we had until we lost it. I don't like Wonder's "Bosses" The game is great but the bosses leave a lot to be desired.
Interesting that the final bowsers form looks similar to Tricky Tong from Donkey Kong country returns. But anyway, love that bowsers has his Unique fight here, not like in the rest of the games

@@Mac14329 I watched the video and hence my comment, if you count as bosses the foes in the wonderful seeds or those robots that are almost the same, good for you, but for me bosses are those at the end of a world in a castle or airship , and here there are only five, 4 being Bowser jr. and the final one being Bowser, what I complain about is that Nintendo has a wide variety of villains... and always stays stuck in the same thing.

You are taking this too seriously, I don't say the game or Bowser jr. is bad, I am just saying Nintendo has a great cast of villains they could use instead of keep up with the koopalings or Bowser jr. every single time, this game was made to be different from the "New" super mario bros. Saga, and yet we are still stuck with the same Junior instead of seeing the kings of other lands(Like King Boo or Goomba or Bob-omb) , or Wario and Waluigi or even Kamek as boss fights. And yes, normally boss fights means battle against a powerful foe at the end of a world in a Mario game.
I actually like the change on focusing on twisted worlds and the wonder effects rather than bosses. The fact that there isn't a traditional boss in every world (and that there's only two of them) and the greater focus on the world and levels kinda reminds me of a game like Tonic Trouble.
I'll give them points for creativity on the rest of the game, but that Bowser fight has to have been the dumbest thing I have ever seen. They really could have come up with something better than that.

the robot Bowsers count as bosses because they're mostly collecting the wonder power and creating armies of bob bombs and mechakoopas, and by destroying them, the military factions will be crushed, making it easier to reach Bowser, if that makes sense.
Why couldn't the developers make the Mecha Bowser rooms longer for crying out loud?! How do they think cheesing a very short room in just a few seconds makes for a decent climax?! 😡
If we are going true traditional style bosses, im kinda torn here. On one hand i mean its disappointing its only bowser jr and you only hsve 3 fights but on the other hand, at least it is just 3 and its varied unlike the 30+ times you fight the same boom boom esh bowser jr in nsmb ds. But i feel there should have been some different unique bosses in the worlds that didn't have bosses. However the wonder flower bosses like king boo and giant konk are unique and fun enough to make up for the lack of traditional bosses. To be fair, bosses were never 2d Mario's strong point even in world and smb3. But i did kinda hope for more. Otherwise a minor gripe in an otherwise fantastic game!
Good boss designs and fights and all, but other than the robo bowser and the somewhat wonder bosses, most of the boss battle setups are similar to new super mario bros (the very first one) where you have to battle Browser Jr a few times before you face off against Browser as the last boss.
You need the skill levels of an embryo to play this game. So ridiculously stupidly easy and beyond boring game. The visuals are the ONLY thing it has going for it. One of the worst Mario games I’ve ever seen and played. Nothing will ever out do Super Mario 3 and Super Mario World. This game gets a D- for me.
@@Unknowntrashcan So, whenever you get to the end of an airship level you find a Bowser-shaped machine that’s making Bobombs, Mechakoopas, and those AeroKoopas. They have a button on their head that you can press to one-shot it. Bowser has the same thing on his head. It’s just a fun lil thing
When I was fighting Bowser for the first time I immediately knew the weak point was obvious(not impossible to miss) and I was able to no damage win the fight.
