    I’ve always been into knives and have been carrying one pretty much everyday since 2007. I’ve always leaned towards the more economical knives like gerber and kershaw (carried the leak and chive for years). I always thought the spyderco knives were ugly and too big, but I loved the after market support for the pm2 and pm3. I pulled the trigger and got a g10 camo scale one with s45vn blade. Right out of the box I was sold. The weight and action are soooooo good. The ergonomics and the way it fits in my hand gives me a lot of confidence if I need to do heavy work with it. I LOVE the compression lock (liner locks piss me off now 😂). I’ve also mastered the spider flick and it’s one of my most fidget friendly knives (the civivi elementum 2 is great also!) I installed brown micarta scales, titanium hardware (that I anodized myself, including deep carry titanium pocket clip) and did a 2 step acid etch job on the blade with ferric chloride. It is my absolute favorite knife in my collection and I love that it’s one of a kind. My only problem now is that I don’t know what to buy next because I’m so content with my spyderco! I will say that mini adira from benchmade is looking pretty sweet though! Great video 🤙

    I wanted a compression lock, and wanted to like the PM 2, so I picked one up in S45VN. I really like the PM 2, although a little large for what I'm looking for in an EDC, but 9 out of 10 times when I flick it open with my thumb, the compression lock tab pinches my index finger. If I think about it, I can open it without getting pinched. But if I just pull it out of my pocket and flick it open, without thinking about it like I normally do, it pinches me every time. Might have to try the PM 3 and see if the size difference makes a difference with the pinching.

    • @GBall_Vision
      @GBall_Vision 5 месяцев назад +1

      Hmm Interesting. You mean like right where your pointer finger starts from your hand ? It takes practice, new locks new opening methods etc. It could be the difference between a slight change here or there when opening it. Eventually you figure them all out. The way I handle a PM 2 as I will grab it with a little looser of a grip if you will. And the tip of my index finger will basically be on the pivot and that gives an arch to your index finger leaving your whole index finger in that part of your hand off the back end of the knife, hope that helps

    • @GBall_Vision
      @GBall_Vision 5 месяцев назад +1

      Basically let the knife be a little looser in your hand. Arch your pointer finger so it's kind of by the pivot. That'll leave your hand off the spine. A few tweaks and some practice you'll be a pro at it.

      @@GBall_Vision Thanks man, appreciate it. I'm sure it will take a little getting used to. I have been carrying a stainless Delica for almost 10 years now. Between the PM2, Manix 2, Native 5, and two different Tenacious, for every day in and out use, I'm liking the cheaper Tenacious a lot. So much so, after trying the 50 dollar model, I got one in CPM-M4 for better durability. I still want to try the Para 3, it might check all the boxes. And the other three mentioned will get a little Gucci treatment. The Manix 2 got Flytanium upgraded hardware and pivot ball. The PM2 got Flytanium copper scales, that I will polish. The Native 5 is the Blurple version with S110V and is pretty just the way it is.

      @@GBall_Vision different strokes, right. Really want a warncliffe spydie. Wish the lil native warn had some variants. To me, the great thing about spyderco is the choil. I currently own a few inexpensive folders, like Virginia, Opinel, Ausonia and a couple of souvenir blades, but beyond the 50 € threshold I have a Victorinox RangerGrip 78, a SOG Terminus XR with a S35VN blade, and I'm considering a ParaMilitary 2 or 3 as a more expensive blade. I really love the micarta - CruWear combination for both of them, it just looks right.
    On one hand I like the PM3 better, with a more obtuse angle of the drop point, but on the other hand everyone seems to prefer the PM2. I feel like I'd reach for a fixed blade if I needed something longer and sturdier, like a Mora Companion HD I got for camping and to do some bushcraft, and I mostly work from home so a shorter, lighter folder would fit in my sweatpants pocket nicely.
    Decisions, decisions. So, Cru-Carta PM2 or PM3? What should I get? 🤔

    • @GBall_Vision
      @GBall_Vision 4 месяца назад +1

      I would say you can't go wrong with either one. The para 3 fits me just fine, I typically want a bigger folder, so I'd go for the PM2 just because of the more options in regards to the grip and you get that added blade length, I wouldn't compare it to a fixie more so just a folder that is a little more substantial. I'd look at what you prefer in regards to size and pick the one you think, the one I think may definitely not be in line with what you think/want. The para 3 is a perfectly adequate knife and I can get a full grip on it too with the choil. I have both so it was tough for me 😂

    Not that I’d say that PM2s/Para 3s are ugly (not at all), but they are plain, in that they come mostly with plain, flat G-10 handles. I have overcome that problem with a variety of aftermarket scales (they’re beautiful). True, the blades are very broad, to accommodate the Spydie-hole, which given the great utility of that hole, and the shallow flat grind that breath permits, is a worthwhile compromise, between blade geometry and pocket-fit. Another thing I love about these knives is the wide variety of exotic knife steels available. I have a medium-size collection of PM2s/Para 3s. I find myself buying as many different knife steels as I can find and afford, and as many great aftermarket scales as needed. Lately I’ve found some interesting scales, so I buy those, and then look for knives with new and interesting steels to put ‘em on! I have about 20 right now, and expect to pick up new knives and scales on a regular basis. It’s fun!

      I like all of them mentioned in this thread. If I had to pick between these 2 tho. The pm3 fits my hand perfect. I have the knife joy pm3 the lil native knife joy and a maximet pm3 along with both natural jade pm2’s the tanto and the regular pm2. I love spyderco period lol I’m collecting other makers now like demko.

    These are both terrible knives. I say that soley based off of looks and not having handled either so that makes me an expert. 😅 Nice comparisons brother.

      Obviously joking🤔...? Handle, carry, use it; then say that. Not one of the top faves of thousands for no reason! Crazy how the beauty becomes apparent after a bit! The Design is Brilliant🤟💥!

    From 2 and 3 LW I find 2 is little too big. 3 LW is right size in work using it many times during the day every day. Might get second para 3 for fun and change. Work I take 3 LW for shtf I take manix 2 it locks to my hand better than 2. If I have to have just one for everything I go pm2 but I like more for para 3 for work and manix 2 for force multiplier not too big or small and locks to the hand real good. That is just how I feel. If work is different maybe I like something else... I think normal everyday urban work day EDC para 3 is a winner..

      They definitely all are scenario based and all have great value depending on use case. The good thing is we can choose to get all the ones we love 😂
