The late music producer Bappi Lahiri said in a Bengali show called Dance Bangla Dance hosted by Mithun Chakraborty that he used this folk song “Allah megh deh, paani deh” originally from Abbas Uddin Ahmed as his inspiration to create the Hindi song in the Bollywood film staring Amitabh Bachan - De De Pyar De Pyar De sung by Bengali Kishore Kumar in the movie Sharaabi 1984. The original song cane from East Bengal which is now modern day Bangladesh. If you don’t believe me I have attached the link below where Bappi Lahiri was praising Bangladeshi dancer Shamima Parvin Asha dance performance on 5:28 this is where he mentions it.
    m.ruclips.net/video/V6vHMbs5Jos/видео.html
Back in the days Bengali producers where massive in Bollywood and because their ancestors where originally from East Bengal (Bangladesh) they where inspired by many songs from that region which they then brought over to Bollywood but changed the language from Bengali to Hindi which is why majority of Indians weren’t aware of where the original song came from but nevertheless we are proud of our music and traditions because it’s rich in art & history. Much love to you from Sylhet ❤️

The song "Allah Megh De Pani De Chhaya Dere Tui" sung by Coke Studio Bangla Season 01 was sung by most popular folk singer Mamtaz Apa and Mizan Bhai former vocal of a very popular band WARFAZE, two arrogant and legendary musicians of Bangladesh. There was another person involved who I may not know but I became a fan of him. The musicians have played their instruments in a wonderful way. In a word, Shayan Chowdhury Arnob the music director of Coke Studio Bangla has performed a song that makes Bangladesh proud.

What?? Your comment is so racial.. Doesnt matter whether these are written by Hindu, Sikh or any Christian.. does it??? So communal thinking....
By the way, "Allah Megh De.." is written by the great Abbasuddin in 1940. And we least bothered about his religion...

@@zafarimam6425 first of all Hindus and Muslims in Indian subcontinent are not different races, we are same race who happens to follow different religion that's it and comment was about both song are kind of Islamic in nature but written by Hindus. There are a lot of songs about krishna and Radha written by Bengali Muslims. To understand this you have to have an idea about the culture of the particular region which you are lacking.

The word is not "tu" like Hindi or Urdu, but "TUI" in Bengali. None of the words are Urdu in the whole song. Some words are common in the sub-continent, and some have similar phonetics. Gujarat, Assamese, and Nepali have a few words that resemble Bengali or vice versa. Sanskrit is the mother language for both Hindi and Bengali. Urdu itself has its roots in India. So, be mindful about what you are saying.

Like Bangla, Megh / Pani / de / Maulana / Noor all are also used in Urdu. So he is of course correct in this context.
