With the current combat stats we can get the *biggest* difference between the two is: with Salvation you will lack the CDR to use Blood Massacre three times per transformation. Sorry for the late response. I think your build should be fine once you get grudge. However it isn't the best but I understand you are on a budget. You should aim to swap HM or Cursed Doll with Adrenaline. Then you can either go Spec/Crit Salvation or Spec/Swift Hallucination.

Hi Shandamon, thank you a lot for this explanations, you really help us a lot! I have a question, is it possible to go 4 pieces of Hallucination and 2 pieces of Salvation and still take advantage of the 2 sets bonus?
@@Shandamon If i go 6 pieces of allucination i'll end up with 25% dmg & 20% crit rate, since i have SPEC/SWIFT build is bettere to get 13% dmg end 15% crit from the hallucination (in sostitution of the Argos Crit set) and 2 pieces of Hallucination that gives me 14% Dmg so the total buff bonus shold be this: +13% DMG (4 pieces of Hallucination) +14% DMG (2 pieces of Salvation) = 27% DMG compared to the 25% i'll get with the full Hallucination +15% Crit rate (4 pieces of Hallucination) ...and also i get the Salvation bonus if i go below 30% which is not bad.
@@_NEX_ That won't work for you. You can't maintain the hallucination effect without 6 pieces so in reality it's a huge dps loss because of all the downtime you have for the buff. Is my planned build good or am i missing something major. DI/Adren/Kbw/Grudge/Raid cap for 3x5 with swift neck. Then i go hallucination set for the 20% crit. Kbw needs 65+ to make viable but since DI 30 + Adren 15 + relic set 20 + lostwind 7 + party buffs = minimum 72 crit. Raid cap is also maxed from the DI 20 + swift neck + support relic 10 = 40. Or is crit neck and salvation just better eventhough you don't max raid captain
It used to be the old meta before there were newer relic sets but it's not as good Salvation or Hallucination. If you go Dominion then you are kinda forced to go Awakening for one of your engravings and it's just kind of a waste on Shadowhunter.
I use 5 x 3 engraving , adrenaline , devilish impulsiveness , master hit , dool curse , and spirit absorption , I ask for your recommendation should I use hallucinations or salvation { poetry } ? , thanks
Salvation would be impulse, adrenaline, grudge and keen blunt 3 these are mandatory. With salvation you have some options for the 5th engraving, cursed doll is probably the highest damage output but hit master is only slightly worse without any negative aspect. Then last but not least, supports will be buffing move speed with their relic set bonus so raid captain is technically an option but probably less effective than cursed doll or hit master. If you can’t afford relic gear And are just 4x3 salvation, your only options really are impulse keen blunt adrenaline and grudge.
I've been asking around and haven't found a proper answer to my question. I'm planning to go 6 set Salvation with DI, Grudge, HM, Adrenaline and KBW which is absolutely fine. However, I like to look ahead into further end game and see the viable build I can go for. Now, if I can maintain at 65%+ crit rate with DI 3, Grudge 3, HM 3, RC 3, KBW 3 and Adrenaline 2; would this better than the second option which the same but instead swapping RC to 2 and Adrenaline to 3? Since I'm sticking to Salvation , I'll be running Spec/Crit Neck anyways, but would the 1st build provide more damage compared to the 2nd one? (Won't be making full use of RC 3 since max speed with most likely be 130% with support set, but it'll still provide more damage over Adrenaline 3 right?)
First off let me say that you can easily achieve 140% movespeed with a spec/crit necklace. Supports will give you 10% so you are at 130%. If you use Rune Rage on a low CD skill(Demonic Q or W) you can actually proc it very easily and hit 140% like that. Because of that, I think your future plan actually works pretty well with the Adrenaline 2. Either way, both are pretty good options. From a min max perspective, 2nd option looks to be more damage in the future. Hope this answer helps!
I was thinking of going 4 hallucination 2 salvation, but I will stick to Salvation only. Right now I have 2 argos/2 demon beast/2 salvation and I like it.

Which is all fine btw :) my grp killed Vykas HM and without 5*3s or full relic set. At the moment I prefer high quality accessories with 4*3 over 5*3 anyway, because Spec increases dmg too. By a LOT. Also, I can get back into Demon Form with only 5 skills instead of 6, which is very nice for Vykas who dodges often. I went for Hallucination with Spec/Swift neck and DI, Adrenaline, KBW and HitMaster. Best bang for you buck :D Don't underestimate the mobility swiftness gives you + it frees you from being locked in on grudge or cursed doll which aren't ideal for learning new raids (with 530swiftness+sup speed buff I will be at ~138%move speed in demon form, good enough for RC). And ofc it gives you 3 blood massacres per rotation.

@@TheGaryAir my mistake, i forgot lvl 3 demonic impulse. btw is a good build but personally i will build keen blunt weapon instead of cursed doll. but for salvation set cursed its realy good, i will build keen blunt with hallucination set.
@@Shandamon In fact I am wrong 😂. Because I just learned that the "stack" part of salvation is additive with your weapon "additional DMG" from quality and the buffs from like the support relic set, and then it's multiplicative with the 5%. With weapon quality 70 (+20% DMG) and the 8% dmg support buff it would be (1.28+(0.7x3x20/100)x1.05)=1.785. Long story short... the translations in this version are scuffed as hell and every set has a different DMG modifier since some bonuses are additive and some are multiplicative. Salvation per example gives ~3-4% less dmg than nightmare even though the stack bonuses seem to be higher.
@@nmalele0909 Hmmm it would depend of many things... Your weapon quality, the buffs that are applied on you, your base crit rate... and how much do you value the attack speed tbh... What I can do is give you the formulas of the 2 sets and some examples: If you had a 100% quality relic weapon and the 8% dmg buff from supports your base additional dmg without any set would be 38%. And if we then calculate the dmg multiplier of the 2 sets without any engravings: _Salvation = (1.38 + (0.7 x 3 x 20/100) ) x 1.05 = 1.89 = 89% extra dmg_ _Hallucination = (1.38 x 1.25) = 1.725 = 72.5% extra dmg_ Salvation would be 16.5% stronger. Then there is the 20% crit rate from Hallucination which is hard to determine how much extra dmg you are getting since it depends from your initial crit rate... let's suppose you already have a crit chance of 21.42% (600 crit stat) and see the increase of the average dmg outpout: CRI = CRITR x CRITD + (1-CRITR) Crit modifier: CRIT1 = 0.2142 x 2 + (1-0.2142) = 1.2142 = 21.42% extra dmg Crit modifier with Hallucination: CRIT2= (0.2142 + 0.2) X 2 +(1-(0.2142+0.2)) = 1.4142 = 41.42% extra dmg CRIT2/CRIT1 = 1.1647=16.47% extra dmg So basically they'll give you almost the same dmg outpout under these conditions, but the higher the crit the less dmg increase hallucination will give you, plus the other thing is that salvation also gives attack speed and I dont really know how much uptime you have in practice with hallucination, plus my math could be wrong because my sources are in Korean and I dont speak Korean :)
@@daviddiaz3771 Yeah this is a not an easy calculation to do. KBW should improve hallu, but on the other hand, DI shadowhunter crit is a lot higher than 20%, as you have +30% from DI and would probably be running adrenaline engraving. I wonder if a build without adrenaline + spec/crit necklace would work, maybe I will do the calculations later, but I think in that case your attack speed would be a lot worse than the two other builds, making playing it less fun

I'm running hallucination purely to maximize Keen Blunt's efficiency. I'll be sitting at 92% crit rate.. (currently at 102% in combat with Hallucination 4pc and preordained 2pc). At that crit rate Keen Blunt is effectively 21% extra outgoing damage compared to other engraves(basically grudge with no drawbacks) for shadow hunter who has a basic 2x base crit damage. I'm currently running 5x3 Demonic, Keen Blunt, Hit Master, Adrenaline, Cursed Doll.. in the future when we can have 5x3 1x2 I'm going to drop adrenaline to lvl 2 and pick up grudge finally. Red box = on par with all the 16% damage engraves like Stabilized, Mass, etc. Blue box means starting to be more valuable than picking one of those.
I'm don't think you should go with a very high crit set up. Reason being is, there are so many free sources of crit in the game(crit synergy, bracelets, etc.). With your set up you will easily overcap on crit and it's just wasted. Honestly, 70% crit is a good number because it's high enough that most of your skills will crit and there is also room for extra crit that you can receive.

Currently I have 2pcs hallucination, and I'm thinking of crafting 2 beast sets for the extra damage until I push if further to beyond 1460 and be able to craft the full relic set, so what do you think about this?
Yes you can do that or you can craft 2 set salvation and keep 2 set Argos until you can farm out the other 4 pieces of the set
@@venkateshbatman you mean hallucination?
@@kareemnabil1064 yeah 2 set salvation, 2 set Argos and 2 set hallucination
Demonic god strikes again
i have di3 adrenaline 3 cursed doll 3 grudge 3 with 2 set salvation 2 deamon set what to u thing i should change with my engravings?
i would added 3 keen blunt weapon, but its your choice.
@@miltsouza how he has no crit he needs adrenaline first b4 kbw
@@TheGaryAir yeah but him have only 3 engraving, need one more engraving. With adrealine he will have 65% crit rate. Thats enough to keen blunt works good.
@@TheGaryAir my mistake, i forgot lvl 3 demonic impulse. btw is a good build but personally i will build keen blunt weapon instead of cursed doll. but for salvation set cursed its realy good, i will build keen blunt with hallucination set.
Can u do on gunslinger if you have one?
I don't play gunslinger
Personally going salvation, gives you a free out in a pinch in legion raids!
Salvation does not give 47% additional damage, it actually gives 49.1%... since the 5% additional dmg from 6 piece set is multiplicative.
Ah gotcha. Wasn't aware, thanks!
@@daviddiaz3771 does this mean hallucination is better?
@@nmalele0909 Hmmm it would depend of many things... Your weapon quality, the buffs that are applied on you, your base crit rate... and how much do you value the attack speed tbh... What I can do is give you the formulas of the 2 sets and some examples:
If you had a 100% quality relic weapon and the 8% dmg buff from supports your base additional dmg without any set would be 38%. And if we then calculate the dmg multiplier of the 2 sets without any engravings:
_Salvation = (1.38 + (0.7 x 3 x 20/100) ) x 1.05 = 1.89 = 89% extra dmg_
_Hallucination = (1.38 x 1.25) = 1.725 = 72.5% extra dmg_
Salvation would be 16.5% stronger.
Then there is the 20% crit rate from Hallucination which is hard to determine how much extra dmg you are getting since it depends from your initial crit rate... let's suppose you already have a crit chance of 21.42% (600 crit stat) and see the increase of the average dmg outpout:
CRI = CRITR x CRITD + (1-CRITR)
Crit modifier:
CRIT1 = 0.2142 x 2 + (1-0.2142) = 1.2142 = 21.42% extra dmg
Crit modifier with Hallucination:
CRIT2= (0.2142 + 0.2) X 2 +(1-(0.2142+0.2)) = 1.4142 = 41.42% extra dmg
CRIT2/CRIT1 = 1.1647=16.47% extra dmg
So basically they'll give you almost the same dmg outpout under these conditions, but the higher the crit the less dmg increase hallucination will give you, plus the other thing is that salvation also gives attack speed and I dont really know how much uptime you have in practice with hallucination, plus my math could be wrong because my sources are in Korean and I dont speak Korean :)
Yo man nice explanation, I have gotten lucky with a 8x8 stone for adrenaline n raidcaptain, so i have no choice but to go Spec Swift (hallucination) that is!!
Raid Captain is still fine even without Swift.
sh hunter main. 6 pc hulluicination set. engravings grudge3 cursed 3 di3 adri3 for my 5th engraving i will go KWB. spec and swift on neck.
what 5ENG you think i should get with hull set spec/swift build?
Impulse, grudge, keen blunt, adrenaline and raid captain. 100%

@@SpiralstaticXX why keen blunt and not cursed doll?
@@SpiralstaticXX oh dam that nice tnx mate yea i hone my wep to 21 aswell so ill work on that 5ENG tnx for help!
i'm changing set.. POE is so strong.
%60 crit is bad :S I am using keen blunt weapon engraving :S
imagine recommending a recraft instead of gear conversion
Salvation is clearly better, you’re literally trading crit for flat dmg increase 1:1, of course flat dmg increase will be better
@Rashid Hassan U will have high crit coz Tai scrappers have nothing to put their stats into besides crit or swift
@Rashid Hassan Huh DI Shadow hunters get like free 35 crit on transform LOL
For those curious KR dropped a graph showing keen blunts efficiency. preview.redd.it/auxheckzl5h81.png?width=1738&format=png&auto=webp&s=5fd0391d31ef3bdae9b00c1fe08835324e68449d
Left column is base crit rate, Top row is your crit rate, where they cross is the efficiency.
