- Hey everyone, welcome to another tutorial, this time on the 'Bonham style' paradiddles, ala what he played in the famous RAH Moby dick solo. I've been meaning to make this one for a while, but never got round to it, so I'm glad I finally got it done. I will have that part 3 of the Moby dick tutorial out over the next week or two as well, so look out for that.

Terrific tutorial, Alex!!! You have this stuff down!
I'm glad you think so! It's good to hear people still think the tutorials hold some weight, sometimes I find it easy to look back on my old videos and think that I need to re-do them because of such small imperfections
That was great the way you broke it down slowly. What an amazing drum lick. Thanks.
Great job 👍
you can't go wrong imitating Bonham. Fantastic.
Thank you very much, mate!
I'm speechless. You really got the John Bonham sound!
Thank You young man very helpful 👍
Absolutely spot on Alex 👏
Thanks mate!
Great step by step tutorial!
I really like this thanks, I’m doing the bonham paradiddlediddles “floating” over the Tom’s while trying to do hi hat and bass as well. This is a great video, thanks
I'm glad you're getting use out of it. It's definitely a floating feel, the whole aura of the paradiddle is about grace to me, and it's attachments no different when it's around the drums
Excellent Alex! You have good drumming skills : )
Thank you very much, mate!
Buenosimo muy bien explicado
Awesome buddy
Misspelled paradiddle a few times...sorry 🤦♂️
Nice job bro thankyou
Thanks for watching, Bob!
Love your videos! Such an amazing resource and you are great drummer.. I do have have question- what are the dimensions of your rack tom? It looks super cool......
Sorry for the slow response Dave, it's a 14x14 floor tom on a snare stand. In honesty it's a bit deep for a rack tom, and these days I use a bit of moongel on it to get the pitch I want without it ringing out too much. I'm really glad you enjoy my videos!
Wow! NIce job young man
Thank you!
Where do you insert the kick (doubles*)?
Imagine it as in 16th notes: hi hats on the 1, bass drum on the and a
Have you practiced Samba patterns, and stickings over them?
Not over paradiddles. I haven't really explored ideas outside of the standard stuff in terms of samba really
Great!
Just watched this again a year later - even more impressed than the first viewings! Thanks for this vid! Really amazing!
