Can't wait for this one! Please take your time and explain everything step by step. Thank you
I will explain as much as I can 👍 don’t worry, my bank balance will make sure I take my time 😂
Get the lower seat bases for your swivel seats they are universal left and right with handbrake mounting and ford galaxy front seats have a good swivel all you have to do is cut a little tab to let them swivel,
Your seats will be to high with the standard base (like the van.)
I was looking at those lower bases. You think they are a must buy then 👍
@@SpyderLEE you could try your driver seat first with a swivel, I found that with the ford galaxy seats they were to high and if you fit a swivel to any other seat it would be to high the lower bases are 30mm lower than the standard
Gasless is the way to go. I have basic 12V system and use a (Vango) 800W portable Induction hob and a 600W kettle to use with my 1000W Inverter and 100AH Lithium battery, works well so far. I will probably add a second battery at some stage. I went with the Renogy kit as it has all the bluetooth and BMS built into the battery - they also do two very neat monitors with additional features to most, it works well so far for me, well worth a look. EatSleepVan here in NZ used the Philips Hue lights in his van build. The layout looks like a good use of the space, especially the side facing or L-shaped seating at the front - we have a side facing sofa opposite the slider, its great for the view (watching motor racing trackside or the mountains) and means we have a good airflow when needed - also good to have the kitchen partially across the slider too, good for cooking and room for a flip up at the end of the counter if you find you need a bit more space too. Looking forward to the build.
Some good things to think about there thanks 😁
Yes!We have been waiting for this! Cheers Lee!
Thanks 🤩
Ooh exciting! Looking forward to this.
I’ve seen a move toward large capacity lithium power units and all 12v electric accessories. Pricey though. If it was me I would put refillable gas rather than bottles, personally
I see a lot of comments lately complaining about the availability of LPG in petrol stations, especially in europe. Though I’d just go for it and go big on the electric. Once I’ve got over the heart attack from the battery price everything else isn’t too bad.
And it means I can use an air fryer!
Wow this is gonna be some build. Look forward to seeing this one
👍☺️
Hi Lee
Solway Camper conversions do interior panels and windows
Mulevans do ladder wheel carriers,
Morland have free delivery at the moment
I’ll have a look 👍 those solway panels are ridiculous money though aren’t they and from what I’ve seen not the best fitting either.
@@SpyderLEE yes not cheap but a nice finish, I’m not into carpet finish anymore as it spoils and holds dirt and smells,
Didn’t have any issues fitting mine, I did go to Solway to have a look and get advice on fitting,
They also do real nice seat covers, but they are very slow with sales unless you go there,
Yes not cheap panels but easy to clean and keep looking nice
Great vlog as always looks like it's going to be a great van looking forward to watching the build.
Thanks ☺️
Looking forward to this build! Have you considered a vent/extraction fan above the shower.
Yes it’s on my list of maybe’s to fit. Depends on the height because of the solar.
Sounds like a plan! Love a new van build 😎👍🏻
Cheers 😁
Fantastic it’s going to look. Awesome
Thanks ☺️
Looking forward to the build
Thanks ☺️
Sounds good cant wait to see it part by part
This will be a fantastic van when your done lee just like your t5 👍
Thanks hope so 🤞
The fitted blinds your after rattle like crazy when your driving about, my dads used to do my head in
I’ll definitely look out for that one.
..Can't wait to see ya get stuck in to it!....I'm just starting my vdub, and I'm a bit scared, but your giving me a confidence boost...looking forward to it Lee..cheers!
To be honest once you get into it, it’s all quite straightforward. 👍
Great video like your ideas but could I suggest maybe you put star lights in the roof would look awesome
Something to consider 🤔 👍
Nice one lee looking forward to watching your journey on this build kinda inspiring me to do one myself
You can do it!
Excellent something to get my teeth into !!!
The remis blinds re good, a bit flimsy but not a problem, really recommend them, prefer to the traditional stylesuckerblinds
Yeah I always thought they were a little janky but still better than messing around with other types.
Looking forward to this build. I have a Citroen Relay in silver L3H2 ready to be converted. Really interested in what you do with the front seats.
Hopefully you’re not in a rush lol. Not sure when I’ll be getting to the seats. Still in 2 minds at the minute between a single boxer seat or 2 from another vehicle
@@SpyderLEE no rush 👍. it’s my retirement project starting mid June. Picking the van up tomorrow.
Nice one, you can get 25mm celotex in the side and a 190mm bed in there, I've done it on my Relay.
Ah ok. I’ll get the tape measure out once the ply is off 👍
Sounds good what your about to do the ideas are endless I had a 2014 sadly had to sell due to circumstances..
Oh that’s a shame. Hopefully you’ll get another 😁
this is going to be sick!
Hope so 🤞😁
Looking forward to this Lee.. First dibs on the front cupholder panel if you decide to change it :p I still have the big glove box and hate it.
Ah I thought that cup holder thing was standard. Missus really likes that bit. Lots of room to stash all her crap 😂
@@SpyderLEE That's why I need one.
Talk to John at jc campers in Runcorn about your furniture board
Ah thanks. 👍
I've lived in my swb home built Renault trafic for 3 years, I've just bought a 2021 ford lwb HT, I'm doing similar to you but I'm going to use ecoflow for all my power rather than batteries with an inverter. Just saying, sorry 🤘. So you don't insulate you just use sound deadening?
Yeah I was thinking changing my vw over to ecoflow for its power. I’m going to insulate but just a thinner insulation at the bed headboard area. I’ll know how thick I can go once all the ply is off 👍
Looking forward to the build Lee, not worth trying to sell the bulkhead to recoup some money for the build? I'm sure someone will want it.
It’s one of those things where there’s millions about. The same as the double front seats.
hey buddie im just wondering where you got the hood vents for your mr2, the hottest mr2 on the internet
Made them myself
Why not get a third seat to go behind the two front seats..so they’ll all match ☺️
Can’t wait to see the process
After something a bit bigger than a single seat. Considered getting a vw transporter double as they are smaller than the boxer double.
@@SpyderLEE yeah was just going to suggest using the double you already have on the back and then just buying a single. Issue with a transporter double is the seatbelt isn’t fitted to it
@@karlossmith3714 that was my first idea but the double in the boxer is massive. They are 800mm wide. Far too wide for that area.
@@SpyderLEE ahh that’s fair enough..is it too wide to go sideways? So facing out the sliding door
@@karlossmith3714 then I would cover up the window. I’ll make a custom seat. I don’t need the seatbelts. This will be a 2 berth van so I won’t worry about seating another.
It’s a 6 m van not a 6.36m as it doesn’t have side markers weird as I think it should be a L2 mines a longer one and an l3 also did you do a mileage check
Yeah it’s 6m. It’s the L3. The L2 is 5.4m. The longer one is the L4.
@@SpyderLEE you are right mine is a maxi lwb
Is this an L3 ir an L4 van ? How much difference is there. I been looking at L4H2 vans
It’s an L3 (6m) I think the L4 is 500mm longer (6.5m)
Nice one Lee. What are you doing with the vw?
I’ll be selling it eventually when the new one is done.
