- Welcome to Crimson Guitars HQ ruclips.net/user/CrimsonC... and a Luthier Teardown with Matt taking a closer look at an ESP TE-1000 with an EverTune Bridge. A slight mistake with the factory setup means that Matt has to show us that it's not so scary after all!
The ESP LTD TE-1000 EverTune also boasts a set-through, 3-piece Maple neck joined to a rich-sounding Mahogany body with a beautiful flamed Maple top. That is a great guitar. I have the same model and 2 other Evertune equipped ESP LTD 1000 Deluxes. They're so good it kind of ruins you for guitars that don't stay in tune at all times.

I like that guitar with the exception of the gloss finish wish they released it in a Matt finish. I have only tried one evertune guitar their very rare to come across always being sold out or not stocked at all. The eclipse I tried unfortunately had a massive crack running down the back towards the neck from the evertune router hole.
You mentioned the glossy neck - I have an Epiphone Les Paul that had a super glossy "sticky" neck and I grew to absolutely hate it. One day I just decided to hit it with a really fine sandpaper, I think it was around 1000 or 1200 grit. Now it's one of my favourite guitars to play in my collection. Not that I'm qualified enough to endorse such an approach to anything really expensive (this LP cost around $600 CDN), but it definitely worked for me.
So that's how it works.

Some manufacturers have started using the term "Set Through" to mean that it's an ordinary set neck but the heel is carved to feel like a neck through. I think it just muddys the water and makes it confusing because not all manufacturers use the term the same..!
for me playing guitar is all about out of tuneness. Those little things that give character
Only complaint with evertune is I wish they came stock with heavy tension saddles for bottom 3 strings as I use pretty heavy guages even for standard.

You can buy them from evertune with larger saddles for larger gauges! I built an 8 string with an evertune that could handle an 80
You forgot to add that it has also stainless steel frets.
what if my zone 2 doesn't stay in tune..does that evertune broken?.still got tune change if i tune the tuning peg eventhough im in zone 2..help me please😢

Nah I kid, great explanation of this bridge though. I love the way they feel on my palm and they're really great for players that like a lower tunings but want good stability and string tension without having to go to a baritone scale

Thanks for posting! I've considered doing a build with this bridge but have never had an opportunity to play one. How many semi-tones can you Bend a string before it no longer changes? Or is there even a limitation?
There is no limitation - when you bend the string, you're moving it out of the "no pitch change" area
It bends just like a normal guitar when in zone 3, there's no "limit" to the bend added by Evertune. I do find you need to overbend a little compared to a standard bridge, though. It is a great system when you wrap your head around it. Have it on a few guitars myself and it can't be beat for recording, never have to worry about tuning at all, black magic.

Setting the ability to bend isnt setting the spring to its max, youre actually bringing the mechanism inside closer to the stop, when you bend it then pulls on the mechanism and hits the stop taking the spring out of the equation (think blocking the backside of a trem.) Because of the nature of this you do feel a latency between when you bend until the stop is reached and then it bends up in pitch. The system is bananas, once oyu get your head wrapped around it though its very simple to set up and can be an absolute godsend for people recording, especially with multiple guitars and multitracking.
SO - do you have to reset all these parameters each time you change strings?
Only if you drastically change the guages but other than that, no.. you'll be good to go
How do you go back to the non pitch change setting?
Loosen the strings.
It seemed to significantly lack sustain to me once it was set to bend. I think this bridge is only for chugs.
To fix a glossy neck is easy buy a brillo pad from the hardware store (green pot scrubber) and lightly sand the back of the neck maybe not recommend on a $30,000 Gibson though 😄

Even if it needed one they tend to edit them out now. Fretwork teardown overload lately lol
I don't know if it's the EverTune Bridge or the EMC Pickups, the Guitar sounds soulless to me.
How can you tell anything about this guitar's sound from this video?
You do have to consider that the amp isn't mic'd up, is behind a person and is probably being recorded using a camera microphone.
It's pretty clearly not designed to be a soulful guitar, but it probably has more to do with the signal chain, recording setup, and style of play. It sounds like it's supposed to sound, to me.
It takes away some tone same as Floyd Rose but isnt a game changer.
Wouldn't install it if you love the sound of the guitar acoustically more so than other guitars

Evertune was never scary, but it's always been ugly.
