I feel so sorry for Liam at 1:21 when Aria tells him that she didn't get seduced by Ezra, their want for a relationship was equal on both sides, but yes, they had a student-teacher relationship. Whilst he doesn't exactly put Aria on a pedastal, a relationship like that doesn't fair well in his mind and it completely changes his opinion of his only-just-ex-girlfriend. And he doesn't like that opinion because he loves Aria.
Indi, this isn´t about love, I´m afraid ... it´s about "possession" and Liam is obviously a poor loser ... picking fights by proxy with Ezra is pathetic and very unprofessional ... he should have stayed away from the book instead of sabotageing it!

He's not possessive (in my opinion), just raw, angry, and needing to take it out on someone. That person should be Aria, because it is essentially her fault, but he loves her too much to both realise and do this so he takes it out on the next obvious target: Ezra.

I'm sorry for this unpopular but SANE opinion that Liam was the only one who pointed out how ILLEGAL Ezra and Aria's relationship was. He was her TEACHER and she was UNDERAGE but of course PLL has to make them endgame to continue glamorizing wildly inappropriate relationships. I agree with Liam for saying their so-called "love story" sounds icky because it really is gross.

But (as Aria says) Ezra wasn't some creep who prowled the hallways hitting on girls. I'm not going to get into an argument over legalities, but, according to Pennsylvania State Law, Aria was never underage when she was with Ezra.

Ezra abused his influence and power as an adult, he gaslighted, used, manipulated and abused Aria and all her friends. I wish in this scene Aria had (not exactly) blown up and told him about the bunker, A etc.. I know it's not really her style, but the kind of "because I was tortured in an underground bunker for three weeks and Ezra was one of the people who got me out!" short of yell. There's no real response to that. No real "WELL YOU SHOULD HAVE... WELL YOU COULD HAVE..." response. There isn't exactly a therapy sub-section for helping teenagers who were locked in an underground bunker and psychologically tortured for almost a month. Trauma specialists don't expect to have *that* come into their office.
Liam isn't even wrong either, Ezra knew Aria's age before he ever met her cus he was stalking her and her friends to write a book about Alison. He was seducing her for information and though a lot has happened since and they fell in love it will never not be creepy what he did.

In Free Fall (season 4 episode 20) he reveals he started writing a book after Alison died, only seduced and started dating Aria originally for research, put a pause on writing it when they got serious, then started writing it again when they broke up. That completely destroyed the character imo cus even though it's illegal "he didn't know her age when they met" was the excuse but then them revealing not only did he know her and know her age, but he seduced her just for book information is so sick.
