My theory is that it is the CN 4 chime, it just has different tuning. Regardless, it’s very nice to hear it again after so long! I honestly hope it stays on 89 for years to come!
I only thought it was a CN 4 chime based on how it sounded. But upon closer inspection, you’re right, it probably is a B&O 3 chime. I guess I’m just used to B&O 3 chimes being high pitched, kinda like the one RBMN 425 had in June, 2010. My bad!
B&O whistles will always be a vibe…

Sounds very close to the Strasburg shop built 3-chime 89 had. ^^
Just out of curiosity, does the Strasburg Railroad still have 89’s original CN 4 chime?
That’s defenitly its original CN 3 Chime, B&O 3 is a lot higher toned
@@M.R.Flanagan it’ll sound different for certain engines, depending on the boiler pressure and PSI level
@ go watch some clips of 89 from 2011, it’s a CN 3, and watch some 734 photo freight clips from around 2011, that’s a B&O 3
Cn 4*
I love that whistle but I preferred the Banshee on there.
Agreed
This whistle makes it sound like a real engine again, not the wuss it sounded like!
@@Keystone1906_Productions what happened to the Nathan 6 Chime now?
Put that B&O 3 Chime replica on 475!
It sounds like her CN 4 chime she had for a very long time.

@@RailfanDude610 no worries! they do sound very similar. I think this one being a replica is why it sounds deeper toned then others
@@EastboundProductionsThat explains it. Overall, what’s your favorite whistle on 89?
Sehr schöne Aufnahmen 👍👍🇩🇪
