  • Welcome to the eleventh recap from my training for an EASA Instrument Rating (Restricted). Last time I uploaded some video of an ILS approach at Blackpool, and today I'm just debriefing about my most recent lesson, where we did some ADF tracking. It was a great fun flight, shooting in and out of the clouds as we tracked various NDBs!
I've decided to document my experiences, as a pilot who has until now flown almost entirely VFR, and share how I am finding the training process to gain an IR(R). I hope this will be a helpful series and will help existing VFR pilots who might be considering the IR(R) to assess whether they want to start the course and how they might find it.
If you have any questions about anything I have or haven't covered then leave a comment and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!
