I love his story! He words it so well! When I thought I was lesbian I felt SO empty! Always hopping from one failed relationship to another! I could never find a “good Christian wife” because that wasn’t God’s plan! I love how He says it’s so much better to deny ourselves and live How Christ wants! That’s where the real joy is found!!! I heard your testimony a good while back and I just did again and it had the same effect on me in that I think you are beautiful and I know that God was in fact calling you to His Son. Hallelujah! Thank You Jesus! My daughter has been living that life style a while, hiding it from me. She texted me on Sunday, and said she is now coming out bold and wants to talk to me. Please pray for me to surrender and trust the Holy Spirit, the convicting work of the Holy Spirit and truth to prevail, so that God will be glorified! Any suggestions?
I would suggest that you get on your knees in prayer and fasting everyday leading up to that day. When the day comes, you listen to her, you ask questions and engage her to be honest with you (since when have you felt this way, did anyone ever touch you innappropriately, etc.). Then you hug her, tell her that you love her, that she will always be your daughter, but that you need her to understand that this is not the right path for her according to God's word and that God will always be there for her when she is ready to go to Him. That in life sometimes we think that we are doing the right thing, but that our right thing in God's eyes is the complete opposite. I would pray over her right then and there and I would declare that she is God's daughter and that the Angel of the Lord will come to her encounter in Jesus' name.
Then on your own, I would annoint something of her, whether is a piece of clothing or something that she uses and continue to pray for her salvation and deliverance. Maybe gift her a Bible and annoint it with oil before doing it and ask God to speak to her.
The Bible says: "The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but MIGHTY in God for pulling down strongholds." - 2 Corinthians 10:4
Stay in the gap interceding for your daughter. God be with you. 🙏

Love her she knows what the Bible says. It’s just as difficult to not just let your flesh lead whether your gay or straight. She will know your convictions. Even if she brings a girlfriend over just love them they know you don’t condone their lifestyle and they expect you to reject them but don’t. Now is the time to pray pray pray ask the Lord for His guidance. There are stories in the Bible where Jesus met women who were prostitutes etc His love His forgiveness is what drew them. Your daughter has been conflicted she has fought this and now she’s going with it. Our Mighty God can take what’s our sin and use it to draw us. I’ve been there and I also worked in ministry with those wanting freedom.

I enjoyed his testimony. I think what he didn’t say was also very important. He said he now has a relationship with Christ and made the decision to walk away from a lifestyle that was not fulfilling. He did not say he didn’t have same sex feeings now. He said he would rather deny himself and make the choice to follow Christ. If he would have said he no longer had desires I would not have believed him. The church has screwed this area up so bad. In my humble and personal opinion if someone has gay feelings the church should not encourage dating the opposite sex and getting married as in my case. All you are doing is bringing someone else into the situation that is going to bring lots of heartache. I told my wife before getting married about my past and we both went into it naive. So much heartache for her me and probably someday for the kids. Better teaching would be “youre always going to have these desires and they aren’t going to magically disappear. Try and follow Christ and live a single life”. Salvation of old things pass way and all things become new is a process. Unfortunately not like turning on a light switch. Unless you’ve walked in these footsteps it’s impossible to understand. Hating yourself that you can’t make your feelings be the way they should be and then condemning yourself for it. Are we born this way? Maybe. In my case it was same sex abuse by and older neighbor from a very early age for an long period of time. Most people that I know experiences something similar regardless if you were born that way or had abuse the end result is the same-your inside tells you this is what you are. I wish there was a pill I could take but life is not so simple. You can’t pray away the gay or cast out the gay devil. But maybe you can just make the decision I will follow Christ even though I have these desires and make the decision to not act on them. Any other teaching in my opinion is only harmful to the young person in this situation.
Have you tried fasting or developing a habitual prayer life? I'm not putting down what you are saying at all. It makes a lot of sense. But I have heard testimonies of people that were addicted to certain things and they have said that when they fasted it's like something broke completely and they experienced deliverance or freedom. Based on their testimony, I would say "try it" to anyone who is struggling with any form of ties. 🙏
it's like any other sin dear. its a stringhold... everyone has something that's a stronghold... But God can deliver us... bible says we are tempted because of the desires of our hearts... don't base things on your experience, there are poeple who have been delivered completely...i would seek the Lord and see what he says for you... maybe you need some spiritual work for the events that happened in your past... there's so much.. we don't know but the Lord will reveal it to you. seek Him what He says...and what His word says... Love you with the Lord of Christ. may the Lord depend your love for Him.
@Gary Davis I absolutely believe you and I pray in confidence that God will continue to give your strength to fight this good fight. You're making a very important point and when we deny this, many people become discouraged and doubt if they could even be saved. Paul himself admitted the struggle was very real. Many "heroes of the faith" struggled with deep depression their whole lives. Elderly Christians often say you don't become more perfect as you get older but rather realize your sinfulness more and more as you mature. But there is a never-ending spring of strength and joy in Christ and we can always bring that hurt and that failing back to him.

I wonder if maybe a blanket prescription of singleness would have the same outcome you describe. Perhaps each individual needs to work out his salvation with fear and trembling? I will say, I personally hold the strong belief that any committed male and female Christian (one each thanks) can get married and have a wonderful, intimate and fruitful relationship.
I see your point but we can't limit God either. Some really do get their sexual orientation worked out. For those who don't, I think the Lord wants them single and 100% devoted to Him and doing his work. Thus living a celibate life under His grace.

If a man comes to God and explains how he r@ped and murdered 3 young girls, what do you think God should do? Send him free like all of the people who’ve lived life through Christ? Or do you think he should go to jail for the crimes he’s committed? I’d really hope you’d say jail, because otherwise that’s a lost cause. People who hurt other people without remorse and regret should not inherit great gifts. Does that make a little more sense now?

His book was very good. I just wonder why, through the Holy Spirit, God can heal us from these things, but doesn’t in everyone.
Because it takes genuine surrender.
Like for instance with addiction to porn or drugs, God just doesn't take it away - that would be taking free will from us. But he gives us instruction on what's good and bad for us, and as Beck said, it's the denial of our sinful flesh and its desires and surrendering to God to follow him.
I get this in an intellectual level, but I still struggle with fleshly desires. I'll rationalize and make excuses for it, when in reality I don't want to let go of this sin yet. And I get addiction is a form of bad coping, and as I'm reading this, I'm coming upon the realization that while I"ve turned to worldly mental health advice for addiction and coping I've not asked God how to replace the addiction with something fruitful and healthy.
Becket is a great example of Christianity!

I can relate to the true love and career success thing even though im not homosexual. I think people blindly jump from relationship to relationship hoping some other human being will show them happiness. Im not dating or chasing a relationship anymore. God has brought loving people into my life and peace into my heart. The bible says also that there is no marriage in heaven. Truely, earthly relationships are a man made thing. Your sexual orientation and your job and all that stuff does not define you as a person.
Christ is real, folks!
This is a great conversion story, the Holy Spirit seems to be working overtime. God calls us to a deeper kind of communion with those around us who share the ineffable dignity of all children of God.
It's so sad we live in a culture that wants a "Burger King" gospel, ya know : "have it your way..."
