I remember these. Back in the 1980s, my parent bought a small Shasta and they subscribed to camping magazines. One issue profiled one of these, and I was sold. LOL. Really cool and over-engineered for its day.
Beautiful overall design and built like a tank, as shown by the HEAVY doors! Perhaps the most solidly build tour bus(inside and out!) I've seen on NJOA yet.... Aside from some thicker couch cushions, I'd say it's ready for action!
the WanderLodge Coaches Are still some of my all time Favorite Coach Conversions ! They are also One of the most Well built Units ! I personally do like The Styling of Silver Eagles , Flexibles and some of the 1950s Hounds A.K.A. Greyhound ) Conversions Mainly Scenic Cruisers
What an amazing well engineered machine. It's built like a commercial building/hotel. Funny thing is, it looks really short. It's so big inside, but from the outside it looks really manageable. Doesn't look like a massive greyhound bus. It's in extroidimary shape. A full tune up, fluid change, and paint job,and that's all ya need to hit the road.
Omg Patrick you were like the energizer bunny doing that tour while filming! You hardly took a second to breathe! God Bless ya, cracked me up! Nice Bluebird ✌🏻🤙🏻
I went after a 85, 4 years ago. Had plane tickets, paid a deposit. Day before, wife finds an 03 LX. Nearby. Calls me, ‘this is it’. I’m like okay😅. Once we sold my right arm. Guy out west gave me my $ back. Plane ticket we went someplace else. Still have the coach. Nothing like it. I lived near there years ago. They are well equipped
It's a shame that Bluebird put so much more effort, and detail into their Motor Coaches than they do in their School Buses. I drive a 2014 Bluebird Vision School Bus for work, and the only good thing about the entire bus is the Cummins Turbo Diesel Engine, which is also equipped with an Engine Brake. The Bus itself is of very poor quality. It has leaks all throughout the bus, and every single day, the engine warning light comes on, and the Engine Warning Buzzer activates. This happens several times per bus run, and Bluebird says it's completely normal. The way the bus is designed, and built also makes it impossible for one to ever be able to put the bus on any kind of heavy truck or bus lift to be able to lift it off the ground to do any kind of repair work underneath without severely damaging the bus. There is a local Bluebird School Bus Dealership not very far from where I live, and work, and their Parking Lot is full of brand new 2021, and 2022 Bluebird Vision School Buses sitting there in their parking lot, broke down, and they cannot get parts to fix these Buses, and get them back on the road.
@@porkbuttrocks actually, yes, it is the exact same Company that still builds Bluebird School Buses today. The Wander Lodge Coach Buses was a Spin off from the School Buses. They actually did a much better job at building the Wander Lodge Coach Buses than they do building School Buses. Much much more detail goes into a Wander Lodge Coach than a Bluebird School Bus.
Not a bus conversion but purpose built by Blue Bird Fort Valley Ga. as a luxury Motorhome..A conversion implies it once was a school bus as these were not although built along side each other at the factory, these were not converted old school busses. They were built like a brick sh%^ house and over done in every aspect..I had a 1983 Wanderlodge 35FCSB (Forward Control Side Bath) 3208 CAT diesel Turbo.
These rigs were made to the wishes of the purchasers, so each one was unique in many ways! That’s why it was important to keep the original manual or Blue Book!
the Old WanderLodgers were a big hit with the Wealthy and Celebrities back in the day FYI i’m watching this video inOctober 2022 and right now onEbay is one for sale that was actually comOwned by JohnWayne he partnered on with either his Manager or Agent with for a number of years and the Duke himself traveled in John Wayne was a lover of the Outdoors and he also spent a lot of time on his Motor Yacht that was recently sold off from his Estate
Im gonna buy one instead of the beaver patriot thunder az out in Arizona explains the differences between these buses and regular built motor coaches so thats wut im doin Vermont out
FYI, sorry to contradict you, I love all your videos and work but those interior cushions are NOT original! I even have the original factory BROCHURE on these and They did not offer that color or leather sofa's in 1984. The seats are NOT original. Bluebird used Flexsteel brand leather captains chairs full power as well as AIR ride seats. Totally different shape too.. This coach has had the interior seating surfaces redone in that brown leather.. I am surprised you did not mention the power operated drapes or show the overhead control panel above the bed area! You can operate the power drapes and turn on the "scare" lights outside so it turns on every single outside light to scare anyone snooping around! Cheers! I don't care what the owner says, Those seating surfaces are NOT original! Just an FYI! HAHA still an awesome coach although I'm partial to these!
NJOA;;,PATRICK, HI, I HAS ZERO BLUEBIRD MADE A MOTORHOME, I see 3 axles, the school busses have 2 ,but given the age of this model, it is not in bad shape, I guess it’s an automatic tranny,Thanks for showing it ,,,,,;;;;🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Too old for the price. Not modern. DIY built in doesn't equal 1point anything to me. Cheap laminate. You can get a jaw dropping Provost for what you think this is worth. Sorry. No comparison to anything in the provost class other than the chassis setup??
Wanderlodge RVs are built to last with creative layout and an abundance of storage! Thank you!
We agree!
Thanks Patrick good video.
Very happy you enjoyed it
Very cool! I love Wanderlodges. I hope someone keeps the interior original. Great tour!
I really hope they do

Oh wow, cool
This is beautiful! The interior is quality for sure! I also love the blue stripes on the exterior! Thanks, Patrick!
Glad you enjoyed the tour
Gorgeous!
It really is
This was beautiful like all your videos, I really enjoyed this one, thanks for sharing.. I really liked the bluebird wooden clock as well
Lots of cool stuff in this video

This is beautiful. If I could afford it I would love it. As is! I wouldn't change a thing!

They really have
Good video thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
nice ... did see inside one in 1982 and been a fan ever since
Thank you for the support
A very nice rig! It could use some attention to the exterior, but overall is in amazing condition for it's age.
I love it, beautiful
Another great entry Pat…good to see you are willing to do the tour if the owner is reluctant
The owner Jay did an amazing job on a tour that will come out on a future date.
Absolutely beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!

That bus has everything! It would fun to know who owned it. Makes me wonder what it would looked like with todays slide outs. Thanks for showing it.
Such a mystery

Beautifully preserved antique! Yes enjoyed seeing this amazing coach, made with steel, wow. What did the water tank hold?
I believe it was 150 gallons of fresh water
very cool, I would love to restore it

I really need that lotto $$$$$$$ because I was this. As is. No updating it. It's perfect.
Good luck

A Wanderlodge is not a bus conversion. They were purpose built as motor coaches.
Ah yes
If you ever wanna just get rid of it I’ll pick it up free of charge and that will be my new home!!!
So you want someone just to give you something for free?
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures well that would be great but I’d definitely be willing to compensate for the unit

Ha
How can I contact with you guys to ask about pricing for one mini bus conversion for single female and dog.
New Jersey Outdoor Adventures RUclips channel is not a builder
Holy motion sickness batman
Lots to cover quickly
is this for sale ?
Yes, the seller information is in the description
the rear engine stop and start was for safety while working on engine... nobody could start it from the front and fry the mechanic etc
Another good feature

Where's the conversion, who cares about the crappy trailer throwback.
The conversion is for the next buyer. This video was to document this particular RV it it’s mostly original state
