    In this video I look at the VDIAGTOOL V200 Circuit Prob Tester.... which is very similar to the POWER PROBE III automotive electrical tester. I have experience with the Power Probe III and I can say this tool does the same work with the same features for roughly half the price of the PB3. (as of this video, early August 2023) If you do any automotive electrical work then you should probably have this tool in your tool box. It's excellent for trailer wiring.
    Thanks for watching.

    Why does that bolt trigger red light and you still say its ground?

      @@robortkristensen3818 That is interesting. It is indeed a ground, but it should've been a green light instead of red. I have no explanation for that. Good eye.

      chuckle . . . chuckle . . . I think I will spend my $100.00 on another tool until they fix that red light / ground problem. 😄@@SlipFitGarage

    Yo Brian,
    Hey that looks like it's made by my favorite scan tool brand;
    XTOOL
    Excelent demo Brian.
    Most people will be intimidated by this thing, and prefer the old $0.99 Test Light from Harbor Freight.
    But this thing can do so much more, and it's a peice of cake to get the hang of.
    I just think of 'em as a;
    Traditional Test Light
    Voltmeter
    Ohmeter
    Jumper Wire
    All in one.
    -Chuck

      Hi Chuck, nice to see you. Yes, I believe VDIAGTOOL is part of XTOOL but I'm not 100% . And You do make a good point.... If you think of it as all those tools in one, it's less intimidating. This type of tool may not be great for every electrical problem, and it may not be great for everybody.... but considering the current price, plus clickable coupon, AND 15% discount code posted under my video, that can all be stacked together, it's a pretty good tool.... especially when compared to the Power Probe brand name tool. It's just another tool in the tool box. If you're like me, you can never have enough tools. lol. Thanks Chuck!

    Thats a pretty fancy probe. Just need to be able to choose your ouput. Like a five volt output for testing sensors.

      Yep, just be careful with it. If you're not exactly sure where you're probing, then don't hit the voltage inject button. Thanks!

    These Powerprobe type testers are very useful but too many times I've seen users just poke and poke away at wires without a back probe to what they're testing! Creating holes in wires will lead to corrosion in that wire down the road.

    • @SlipFitGarage
      @SlipFitGarage  Год назад +1

      Poking holes in wires can certainly be a problem... especially up here in the salt belt. It does NOT take long to turn a perfect copper wire into a green powder, that's for sure. However, as you know, this tool is NOT specifically designed for poking holes in wires..... Sure, it CAN poke holes, but it has MANY more uses that will not damage your vehicle and/or it's wiring. It's all up to the user and how they want to use the tool. A hammer can damage your car, too if it's not used properly and it 's not the hammer's fault... Just to be clear for others who may read this comment, you mentioned a USER problem, not a TOOL problem. Thanks for the comment.

    • @only1hollywoodjacko
      @only1hollywoodjacko Год назад

      @@SlipFitGarage it's definitely a user's problem because tools like this with the ability to inject power cuts down diagnosis time, leading to bad habits from the person especially when the vehicle is not theirs.

    I used to be a North American LandRover tech in 1996-1999 and the Range Rover used a body control module to activate everything even the rear hatch the headlights suspension ect... even the windows and the side mirrors where multiplexed through the BCM on what would later become the can-bus type of system this saved on the amount of copper wiring needed in the door jams through the flexible conduit where most failures eventually will occur do to wire flexing I wished I had a tool as powerful as a power probe style tool back then though you do need to be very careful and not hit that toggle switch willy nilly while you are just taking readings on a computer controlled circuit I remember when you had to buy a multi meter that had a minimum 10 mega-ohm input impedance also to be safe while testing ECM or ECU circuitry older analog multi meters can hurt sensitive microprocessor controlled circuits at least back in those days I am not sure if that is still the case I have not been a technician since 1999 even though I still do all my own repair work I don't consider myself to be an authority or expert about anything anymore I am just getting by. The most advanced technician owned tool back in those days was the Fluke 88 Multi meter for the most part that I can remember anyway most shops supplied the scanners and the oscilloscopes type devices to the technicians back then which I see now it is more and more common for every tech to own his own lab scope type device at least even if they don't own their own scan tools of course the cost of the devices has reduced dramatically over the years to make this a practicality also. I am considering reentering the workforce as a tire technician or possible a diagnostician in 2024 I like the idea of changing tires because it was the first job I ever had besides pumping gas and changing motor oil at a full service service station and that job I had at Kroger pushing shopping carts and cashiering before I decided on becoming a mechanic. Plus changing tires although it is a very physical and dirty job to do it is low stress and doesn't require so much knowledge or an investment in expensive tooling either. Although I might take a job as a service writer that also does diagnostic work as well but then i have to deal with people-customers and car problems so decisions decisions for an old man to make.
