These are the world-class advanced missile Systems procured by the Philippine Armed Forces of the Philippines and Deployed by the United States.
As tension runs high in the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait, the Philippines is ramping up to enhance its defense and monitoring system by land, seas, and the Horizon. To prepare Manila to defend its territories amid geopolitical tension over the West Philippines Sea and possible spillover in the Taiwan Strait. The Armed Forces of the Philippines, through its Modernization program, obtained the much-needed defense and monitoring system.
The deployment of the U.S. Mid-Range Capability Missile Launcher System in Northern Philippines, which can fire various missiles, including the SM-6 supersonic missile, with a range of about 450 kilometers, and the Tomahawk cruise missile, with a maximum range of 2,500 kilometers.
And the arrival of the first batch of BrahMos cruise missiles from India, the world’s fastest supersonic antiship missile system. With a range of 290 kilometers to 400 km, BrahMos are medium-range supersonic missiles that travel, about three times faster than the speed of sound. They could be launched from submarines, ships, planes, or land platforms.
These two-missile systems are the newest addition to the Philippines Armed Forces defense assets, aside from the Surface-to-Air Python and Derby or SPYDER system, integrated into the Philippine Air Force arsenal in previous years. Developed by Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, the SPYDER-M R is designed to counter a variety of aerial threats, with its Python-5 and Derby missiles.
These world-class defense systems, through their mobility and advanced detection technologies, make them a formidable component of the Philippines' defense strategy. The deployment of these ground-based missiles into the Pacific is a significant development, if a Chinese amphibious fleet would effectively anchor off, a landing area in Taiwan and station in the South China Sea. Its location would be known, and these maritime strike Tomahawks and BrahMos could go to work, target the fleet, and sink part of it.
Analysts say the U.S. deployment of medium-range missiles to the Philippines and procurement of BrahMos and SPYDER system by the Philippine Military will make it harder for China to claim regional advantage. Missile launchers would counterbalance China's advantage of having more warships.
This landmark deployment marks a significant milestone for the new capability while enhancing interoperability, readiness, and defense capabilities in coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
The MRC has a versatile capability that has been used in the multi-domain attacks in the Russo-Ukraine and Hamas-Israel wars for land-based protection of territories. The MRC is a strong weapon but it has limitations since its capability is mid-range for launcher missiles.
Security analyst Ray Powell said the missile deployment and procurement was part of efforts to boost Manila’s defense mechanisms amid the ongoing South China Sea dispute and tension in Taiwan Strait.

China is a very strong and well armed country. You'll need much more numbers and a wider array of weaponry to prop up a credible deterrent. But firstly, to protect these newly acquired assets, y'all must invest in better, cheaper and denser air defence networks because, for example, if there's a military action by China, the first thing they'll do is to hit these Brahmos missile sites with their missiles or airstrikes or perhaps even with drone swarms. India's Akash SAM would be ideal for large scale deployment. It is very effective yet affordable.

I think philippines is not the 3rd country who acquired brahmos in ASEAN, but the first country that India deliver a brahmos outside the country, and I think Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia were planning to acquired the missile system too.
