Is it ok to shape my bosal with my macate tied on? Maybe it's just laziness, but I don't want to have to retie my macate every day when I ride

Ya I suppose as long as your shaper gets down far enough to give you the shape you’re after. I retie and tie everyday so the mecate doesn’t get a permanent memory but then again I ride a lot of different horses so the rein length always changes.

How long should it stay on the blocker?

Depends on the size and stiffness of the bosal. If I have a new one I’ll grease it up with rawhide conditioner tie it up in the blocker and set in the sun awhile to get it shaped then after each use I’ll put it back in the shaper (just leave it in my tack room) until it holds a good shape and then on I’ll just use it when I need to reshape it.

Remount Horsemanship for the drill spade bit what size and how long do you leave it on the blocker

Oh! I believe it was a half, all you need is a groove to hold it. I’ll leave it in the blocker a few days before it’s first use then back in after each tine I use it until it holds its own shape after that just when it needs it.

I have a dry bosal, do you recommend putting some kind of oil or Conditioner on it and then block it? And if so what kinda conditioner do you prefer ?

There is a cream called vaquero rawhide cream, in a white jar, most quality places sell it, just google it. Yes condition it with the cream then block it.
