@hotfootage here is the problem with your “story” the Dad never yelled at the boyfriend just his ex and never threatened any of them with physical harm until the boyfriend went in and got the weapon. If I was in the boyfriend position I would have placed the gun just inside the door where no one could see it. I would then stand in the doorway and say I know your pissed but the kid is not here you need to leave. At that point if he does not call 911 on your cell and wait for an officer. Now if at anytime he goes to physically attack you or your girlfriend the gun is right there next to your hand you can pull it in under a second if you need to . All that being said I have been on both sides of this coin and things have been heated several times but my concealed weapon never left it’s holster thank God. The best thing you can do is get the law there as fast as possible but be ready if you truly need to defend your life or the life of a loved one. However I don’t see that here. I see a POS mom who more than likely caused this whole thing. I see a Billy bad ass boyfriend saying I’ll shoot your ass if you don’t leave. I see a pissed off dad who is so tired of not getting his kid when he is supposed to. All parties here should have walked away but it’s hard when it gets going. The thing about that we don’t know anything about the dynamics of this family. For all we know he could have been using her as his personal punching bag for years frequently sending her to the hospital for “fall injuries” and everyone there knows this. For all we know he’s been telling them he’s going to kill them repeatedly for weeks/months. We looking at this have no idea what went on behind closed doors or the family dynamics.
They planned this murder. The dad was scheduled to pick up his son that day and the wife denied it and was playing games with the dad knowing he would be upset. I've read in different sources that her doing that was a common occurrence. Their calm demeanor after the murder further shows it was thought out and not a surprise.

I put that more on the boyfriend and the mother. She could have just said he wasn't there and did what she was supposed to do in the first place, and the boyfriend deciding to place himself in the middle of a custody dispute with a gun was beyond overstepping his boundaries. I can see why the father would get immediately heated at the perceived audacity. Boyfriend could have easily came out and confirmed the child wasn't there and diffused the situation, but he went straight to the last resort.
It could be argued that he was a very brave man, willing to do anything to see his child... Or maybe he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and as a result he wasn't thinking straight.
I’m a 2A backer, but why would firearms ever come into play in this situation? If you feel your custodial rights are being infringed upon, call the cops, get a report and go to court. What insanity.
For Kyle it has nothing to do with custody. This was his property, and he ordered the man to leave. Chad refused, so Kyle legally got his gun from inside (as Texas specifically authorizes homeowners to do) and came back out to once again order Chad off his property. Chad instead runs up on Kyle and assaults him, then follows it up with assault in the form of a threat to kill Kyle with his own rifle, then grabs Kyle’s rifle, making good on his threat to take the gun. This justifies Kyle’s use of deadly force against his attacker

I’m a stepdad and I would never think of getting involved in any dispute between my wife and my step kids’ biological father. We pride ourselves on having solid relationships that serve as examples for the kids. We go to parties at each other’s homes, attend school events together, exchange gifts on birthdays and Christmas. I view our relationships as one huge family. When I see this kind of acrimony, I consider myself very fortunate.

@@LateNightRewrites Marriage doesn't prevent this. Marriage does not in anyway prevent the woman from leaving, take everything from the man in family court, and use the children as weapons. Happens every day. Not only is the backdoor always open for women to leave. There is a huge bag with money waiting for them on the way out. Marriage is the most stupid thing a man can do in this day and age. A woman's marriage vows become null and void the moment the guy says "i do". Men should never get married, knock a girl up, or do cohabitation within the Western world. Men who want a family should move outside the Western world and do that stuff overseas.

He will sit in prison for it. He should hang for it.
@Gwallemala You can verbally trespass someone, and if they refuse to, you call the police. It's that simple. You don't go inside, get a gun, fight them and shoot them dead. A person MUST be committing a felony at the time, such as breaking into your property, committing a crime, putting you at great fear of your life. My friggin neighbor comes in my yard all the time because their shit dog keeps escaping. I hate it and it annoys me, but I don't go out there and shoot them dead. Even with a NO TRESPASSING sign, it means JACK SHIT because you CANNOT murder someone for "trespassing", they must be doing something greater than that, or putting you at great fear for your life. Strolling into your house with your chest puffed up, slowly and getting a gun and acting like a tough guy when you come out, isn't a valid reasons to gun someone down. No fear, no "OH MY FUCKING GOD I SHOT HIM", just walks up next to him, all relaxed, and argues. Calm as fuck. Normal situation like that where someone is in fear for their life would be so much more amped up after. You know the gun would go down and you'd go up to the person and check if they're alive. That's what people do that give a shit. This just proves this is potentially a cold blooded killer and it will be used against him.
As soon as he stepped out with the gun, the dad should have simply stepped away and called the police. I know that with emotions running so high it would be hard to do.
Coward lost the verbal fight way before it was started and was scared he would be beaten up in front of his gf hence brought a gun to a verbal fight like a pus*y
I, too, thought Chad Read's current wife was extraordinarily bizarre in her reaction to her husband getting assassinated right in front of her. She continues arguing, etc. Reading further on this, she states she thought he was shot with a stun gun and was just out. And sure enough, when I watched the video the current wife released to the public, I hear her at the end screaming with the realization of what has actually happened. Really tragic incident. In Texas, the Castle Doctrine resonates very strongly with the citizens. I'm not so sure that the jury will see this John's way. He could very well get off. At the end of the day, a great deal of the credit for this incident belongs to the ex-wife, who was clearly messing with Chad Read. Goading him, exerting her power, using her son as a pawn, etc. Based on the dialogue, she may have displayed this kind of behavior on the regular. Despicable. And finally, you can be "right" all the way to the grave, and tragically, that's what happened to Chad, when he believed that being in the right somehow magically protected him from a lunatic.
Someone stepping in your poperty should not be a legal cause to kill someone

@@ceoatcrystalsoft4942 “anyone can get a gun” is sooo untrue. They have the same background check to pass as everyone else.
THE MAN WHO CAME OUT HIS HOUSE WITH RIFLE NEEDS TO GO TO JAIL !!!
