Best thing that ever happened to me is marriage. 23 years in and never been not happy about it. I was with her since the day I moved in my first own appartment, 6 weks later engaged, moved in 5 months later. Had to wait 2,5 years with marriage to get her papers ready, because their parents came from another country.
The problem today is, that people life live 10 to 15 years alone with just their friends as social circle and then think they are ready to unlearn 15 years of single life to be happy in marriage.

The divorce rate is not a measure of successful marriage. In India people cannot divorce because of lengthy court system, society, family, economic reasons etc.
Not that long ago it was taboo to divorce in much of the west and you had to do things like ask the girl's father for permission to marry his daughter. For generations the royal families of the world also famously married 'within bloodlines' for convenience and appearances and we all know just how shallow such marriages could be and how individual choice barely factors into those equations.
If both have consent, court can give divorce in one day. Court process not lengthy now
It usually takes 3 to six months to get a divorce in India if consent is given by both, and up to three years if contested, still, the social ramifications of doing so are profound and destructive for all parties and their families

All marriages are arranged in some way. Essentially how arranged we are, is what matters.
Marriage is a lot more than love. Marriage is the building block for society. It has a meaning for beyond anything you could imagine. It creates better lives for the generations after you. Children coming from broken homes statistically do way worse than children who come from a happy 2 parent household. It creates good humans in general. And man and woman together for 50 years is HARD . but commitment is the way.

My husband chose me.... His mother likes me. His father and sister never miss a chance to let everyone know how much they hate me. I will never do right in their eyes. No matter how good I am or do I will never be enough. It's been 6 years. They make me wish I had chosen differently and never come into their family even if their son/ brother would have been miserable forever.

Sir here divorce rate is 1.5% but honour killings, living in unsatisfied marriage, domestic voilence, rape killings accounts for more than the divorce rates of other countries. 1.5% seems to be small but as we have 1.5 billion population it is very large in terms of numbers.

Seems like what I read in India, these families have their personal astrologers who look at the individual's chart to determine if it will be a lasting, positive marriage. Think they mostly focus on the moon signs and connections with the other planets.

I don't think arranged marriages should be the law or rigidly traditional. Having said that, a group of family or intimately close friends are very often better chosers of the best mate for a given individual. Our fears or egos regularly push us to disasterous choices as individuals. Some are fortunate or lucky, but with so much divorce and true misery perhaps a wiser version of what used to be the norm can have a place in our modern world.
Its just personal choice it should never be forced on anyone, but if you want to do it you should it. Very simple!

Friends that I really loved arranged mine. I don't love them anymore. And I'm divorced. I don't ever want to be married again.
People should do what they want as long as that want doesnt involve children and is consented. Nine year old girls being arranged in marriages, what is that about? Even though its suppose to be illegal it still happens and some states still recoginize it.

The unfortunate thing is....What Sadhguru explained in dis video.... When I said the exact same thing to one of my neighbors, they had the impression dat I do not know the difference between 'love marriage' and 'arranged marriage' which even da kids know!
Life deprived of these great feelings that you have falling in love is missing essential experience. Even animals are allowed to feel excitement about their mate. In Europe arrange marriage used to be a custom for rich ppl to double wealth but even then this arrangement usually required at least a fraction of romantic involvement.

Shouldn't I do what I really want? If everyone started doing what is needed then everyone will started to do only limited things like help for provery, medical , environment issue (Yes we should do that also) but if we only follow on this then there will be no uniqueness at all.Then what is meaning of actor, actress, players, singers etc because that isn't that much needed.

The percentage of divorce is low in India bcz society is not tolerating it! Especially women are depending on their husband and would face hostile reactions after divorce. It was same in Europe 2 generations ago. After women's liberation and good education we are free to decide nowadays 💪🏾. That's how it should be ❤.

Their 1% in India, yeah, but the women normally become a housewife. Not working only the husband. Isn't this true? . If so, that's why it's 1%. The women had no choice. And the man can't leave because parents won't give their daughter away to a divorce man. No? . In America and other places we have freedoms.
