People think the are breaking the "you must be pretty" view of society when they say "everyone is beautiful," but really, they are only confirming that you MUST be beautiful or else the rest doesn't matter. Beauty is something that some have, others don't. It's like someone went around saying, "EVERYONE is good at drawing!" "You ARE good at drawing cuz you SAY you are!" That would be weird, right? But with physical beauty, it's somehow normal. (Sorry about the long comment XD)
Yes, and even the concept of 'inner beauty' implies that to be of any worth, you have to be beautiful in some way. So beauty is ALWAYS associated with good. You have to be beautiful, either inner or outer, to be socially accepted as good.
I know, it's insane. Like, you see those inspirational things that say, everyone is beautiful, but that's just further buying into the idea that we MUST be physically gorgeous at ANY COST NECESSARY!
