This final game is a case study for Referees. Gam-jeom No1 (3:04): [Low Kick] Jones' legal spinning back Kick blocked and lowered by Gomez's already raised right leg and then trapped between her legs. Gam-jeom No4 (4:17): [Illegal action] Jones was attacking, not blocking. Jones had her leg in the air for a total of 2.50 seconds. She tried 4 kicks. 1st (4:17.04) was blocked by Gomez's right hand at waist level. 2nd (4:17.36) kicked in the air. 3rd (4:17.70) was blocked by Gomez's right hand at head level. 4th (4:18.30) kicked in the air. Rule 4.1.5 says for kicking in the air for 3 seconds and even if we pass the 3 sec rule, 2 of her kicks were blocked by Gomez's hand, so there is no kicking in the air, just Jones is so damn fast for this Referee! Gam-jeom No5 (4:46): [Not fighting] Jones didn't fight for 2.10 seconds and retreated only 2 steps back. New June 2018 rules say something about 5 seconds not fighting...... Where did this Referee learned that an athlete can't take 2 steps back to avoid kicks? Gam-jeom No 7 (7:06): [Low kick] Perfectly legal back leg kick. Jones left leg was raised above the horizontal level (4:05.57) but Gomez jumped high at the same time, starting a front kick. Gam-jeom No8 (9:38): [Low kick] Horizontal stabbing kick (but not the best viewing angle to tell the truth). Jones raised her right leg above horizontal (9:36.90) and while kicking Gomez retreated. Being a Referee in a GP final and after already giving 7 Gam-jeoms, you must judge better, especially when the opponent hasn't score any "real" points yet, except if you have decided to be the protagonist of the final..... Gam-jeom No9 (11:08): [Not fighting] Gomez started an attack 11:05.50 and the Referee made the decision to stop the match at 11:07.90. Jones was not fighting and retreating for just 2.40 seconds.....
Damn definitely this wasn't the best fight of Jade Jones, with lot of penalties, still Martha did not fight enough and she seemed kinda scared the 3 rounds, but girl if u r going to do something just try ur best and u won't regret anything in the future The last 6 seconds showed us that Martha could done more and even win the fight but she didn't
