From my experience, you can give him 2 fish, can be the same fish, and 2 diggable, can be the same diggable, everyday. So it's easy to befriend him. Not sure if you get the seedmaker on year 2 or if you can get it on the first year, since i only tried to befriend him on year 2

There is actually an indicator in the game whether it is a good fishing day (fishes will bite faster and high chance to get huge size) on a particular spot. Turtle - you can find this by the swamp near the beach Raccoon - can be seen near the windmills by Vesta's farm, this indicates a good fishing day downstream by the bridge Lizard - can be seen near the waterfalls Owl - up the big tree near the goddess pond Extra! If you see a little chihuahua near the dig site, it means it's a good digging day! you'll be able to get more dig site items than usual.

Following on from tip number 6: the copper rod is available from Van starting Summer 3 of the first year. I found that with the copper rod, the most ideal place to fish is the waterfall. Look for the monitor lizard on the left side of the waterfall (will start appearing fall year 1) or Carter's chihuahua on the right side of the waterfall (available immediately), either animal promotes rare catches. There are also other wildlife you can check for around the other bodies of water that promote rare catches. The most common one being Gordy's turtle by the pond. The farthest one I've seen is the red panda behind Vesta's farm, which is for the river fish. For tip 12: Van needs at least 60~ friendship points in order to offer the haggle option. He starts at roughly 50~ friendship points, so if you can catch him early on the first day he appears you can give him enough gifts to open up the haggling option immediately. Keep in mind that the first gift you offer him he'll restrain himself from taking. So be sure to prepare 3-4 possible gifts in different gift categories for him. After that, he will offer haggling 49.5% of the time (on the first rejection, diminishing returns occur that don't reset until the next time he opens shop, save beforehand for best results.)

I dont think this works for regular crops though This is more later game to make money but make sure you make hybrids ASAP, invest in fertilizer upgrades, a seed maker, and hoard forage items that Vinnie cant use. An S tier strawberry goes for 55g but an S tier strawbluey (strawberry + trick blue flower) goes for over 400g

You can milk your cow every 10 hours. So if you milk it before 7am, it should be okay to milk it after 5pm. Also, my favourite money maker is sheep wool. It starts off at 3,000G and increases to 6,000G. As it is wool, it also means both male and females will make money, but it means they are the same price. I have 3, though one is pregnant. Also, congrats on becoming a RUclips partner, I think I remember you were a bit worried about that.
This isnt a perfect solution with Carter but if you face away from him and move to the dig spot (holding the left bumper on switch) you can dig when hes right next to you

One thing that i REALLY think you should've mentioned is befriending Daryl, give him 2 fish a day starting from the 3rd when you can get the fishing rod and by Summer Year 1 you can get the seedmaker for free and start saving some massive money and actually start getting into fertalizing your crops to get higher rank seeds going.
I have daryl added in to the tip window on the seed maker section but agreed I could have voiced it as well! Seed Maker is such a great way to make more money

you have to check all "underground" crops in this game, Turnips Potatos Carrots and their hybrids because they do not get a visual indicator that they are grown since they are "underground" so yes check them everyday lol
Haggling really sent me because oof.. 15 times.. "I need to shove gifts in his face!!" and as for the dead crops... I felt so so silly!!! I'm glad someone corrected my mistake but ahahaha I was like wait.. its been so long and they are still in their 1st stage? .. oh they are .. dead plants. ... pls 😭I know what you mean about Turnips.. I low key think they are glitched but maybe they are just sensitive if we miss watering them once? I had wilt and I couldn't figure out why
No problem!! Honestly for later in the game I would suggest getting Star cows. I am making so much money just having 7 on my farm and if I get more I'll have more money than I know what to do with
My second file play through i just got sheeps n boy did it profit! I also made sure to plant enough crops to have seeds for my hybrids mixing come year two to cut my cost down, then used fertilizer fast on my grass for free feed.. my income to expenses was over 100000 after my first year!
You don't have to cut them down at all unless you want to move them with new seeds! They still stay dormant if it isn't their flowering season or fruit season
Another great video! Keep up the good work, here’s a question for you how fast were you able to get the seed maker? I was able to get it on spring 5 yr 1 from spamming daryl with herb soup, 2 old coins, then two fish once i unlocked it from van. I wonder if it can be even faster if you give him an egg as well?
Ooh! We were just talking about the seed maker in another comment. Maybe the game doesn't gate you to Year 2. I think you can give him like 8 gifts in a day. I'm not sure if he is special but another user said he was able to but I don't think they listed what 8 items he used
@@Pawserve oh you definitely get it year 1 I just did another save to test it and got it day 4. He’ll take the following I know of: fossil, human statue, old coin, any fish, egg, and herbal soup. Try any combo of these items until he stops saying he wants them! You don’t have to max his friendship either, you can get the seed maker when the relationship is still in yellow but about to hit red on the meter!
I‘m in the spring of year 2 and already have 3 star cows! They currently produce A-Milk which makes about 7200G a day Investing in them as early as possible really pays off
Also, if you plant 15 trees on the bad field on the first day of the season (BEFORE you harvest them the next season) you’ll make around 30.000G if you sell your fruit to Van on the 3rd of the next season because you will have harvested the trees twice (I used 1x banana tree, 1x orange tree and 13x peach trees)
Thats so smart! You can really make a ton of money with planning like that. Star cows are pretty overpowered so I like buying a star cow and then breeding it with the normal cow to get a female star cow early for half off in a new file
Fun fact found out on Xbox in Nintendo switch players if you use your LB button or LT button and have your character face his back towards Carter and back up you can access the same square just wanting to put that out there because like hell he gonna knock me off my square that’s my square
I’m in summer year one and I’ve already found 3 gold forks in the mine . I only go on amazing luck days and also look out for the chihuahua it’s another sign of mining luck!

They would be the same price. S Quality Normal Milk sells for 150g just like Milky Soup! Brown cows and Star Cows are worth more as their raw milk. When you can make cheese and butter you'll want to turn all of the Normal Cow's Milk into them 💜

For fertilised egg, i tried to hatch it 7times, only the first time is female, the next 6 times are male.. they should've tweak the chance of getting female to 70% instead of (i assumed) 50%
yeah It's probably 50% Did you know you can reload your day and try again for a new gender? I did that when I was testing something else out and was surprised! I'm making a new video that will include some more uncommon things people may not know
So far I haven't found out a way to do that but if your looking for a more hands off approach I think Sheeps are pretty cool since you can get them to their final Wool pretty easy and they are lower maintenance than cows but female star cows just make so much money with 700+ per milk and you can milk twice a day
Just so your aware you can keep your chickens outside 24/7 all year round- no chicken feed- no loss of health or hearts- and i get gold and fertilized eggs all the time

Try ordering something like fodder or bird feed > then takakauro will go to the city to buy it and don't order the animal the same day > he'll bring home the horse and allow you to choose between brown, white and black 💜
We talked about this on Twitch. It seems like they were ready to be harvest but we left them in the ground too long. I did the same thing - I think when the square is yellow it means you can harvest it
I'll write that down! The clippers are automatic when you buy a sheep so you don't have to worry about that. Tool upgrades are how many times you have used a certain tool and then if you are far enough

I loved both games and they offer different experiences. This game is more about family, raising your child and evolving with everyone. Friends of Mineral Town is more classic farming sim with more to do.
Instead of potatoes in spring,do watermelons they sell more. (and carry on into summer). then go melons, winter is potatoes. the watermeloon costs a bit more but it is stillworth
Yeah someone else said this too but the cost of watermelons @ vesta makes potatos barely win out in year 1. Tbh you wanna grow everything though for hybrids cause who wants to just use the basic seeds for all 6 chapters :( but yea. Either way you can't go wrong
@@Pawserve true. i think what it is - is that watermelons DO carry over the summer and you get them a few days earlier which can help you get a sheep - which puts you on the path of success. where potatoes gets you to day 8 (since they are 7.5 days). and that is also true LOL. ultimately you grow everything because you need to hybrid everythiing haha

yeah even during bad weather too. Taking away animal sickness and death really does mean all animals can stay out regardless as long as there is enough grass to feed them and their health should stay max or near max

That's what I thought and someone told me Potatoes beat out Watermelon by a little bit since you have to factor in buying the seeds. I felt weird to include farming like this anyway since hybrids are so important for year 2 and onward and we need crops of all kinds to get the process started 😭
I think we have to wait until they go away :( I tried to hoe and sickle the area but nothing worked. After a few days weeds will slowly start to go away

My second file play through i just got sheeps n boy did it profit! I also made sure to plant enough crops to have seeds for my hybrids mixing come year two to cut my cost down, then used fertilizer fast on my grass for free feed.. my income to expenses was over 100000 after my first year!

You don't have to cut them down at all unless you want to move them with new seeds! They still stay dormant if it isn't their flowering season or fruit season

Another great video! Keep up the good work, here’s a question for you how fast were you able to get the seed maker? I was able to get it on spring 5 yr 1 from spamming daryl with herb soup, 2 old coins, then two fish once i unlocked it from van. I wonder if it can be even faster if you give him an egg as well?
Ooh! We were just talking about the seed maker in another comment. Maybe the game doesn't gate you to Year 2. I think you can give him like 8 gifts in a day. I'm not sure if he is special but another user said he was able to but I don't think they listed what 8 items he used
@@Pawserve oh you definitely get it year 1 I just did another save to test it and got it day 4. He’ll take the following I know of: fossil, human statue, old coin, any fish, egg, and herbal soup. Try any combo of these items until he stops saying he wants them! You don’t have to max his friendship either, you can get the seed maker when the relationship is still in yellow but about to hit red on the meter!
I‘m in the spring of year 2 and already have 3 star cows! They currently produce A-Milk which makes about 7200G a day Investing in them as early as possible really pays off
Also, if you plant 15 trees on the bad field on the first day of the season (BEFORE you harvest them the next season) you’ll make around 30.000G if you sell your fruit to Van on the 3rd of the next season because you will have harvested the trees twice (I used 1x banana tree, 1x orange tree and 13x peach trees)
Thats so smart! You can really make a ton of money with planning like that. Star cows are pretty overpowered so I like buying a star cow and then breeding it with the normal cow to get a female star cow early for half off in a new file

I’m in summer year one and I’ve already found 3 gold forks in the mine . I only go on amazing luck days and also look out for the chihuahua it’s another sign of mining luck!

Okay whew.. I was so scared. People over on twitch were very confused too cause I got the female on Spring 1st, the male on the 2nd and I didn't get any fertilized eggs for the whole month

is milk soup is more worth it than S quality milk?
They would be the same price. S Quality Normal Milk sells for 150g just like Milky Soup! Brown cows and Star Cows are worth more as their raw milk. When you can make cheese and butter you'll want to turn all of the Normal Cow's Milk into them 💜

For fertilised egg, i tried to hatch it 7times, only the first time is female, the next 6 times are male.. they should've tweak the chance of getting female to 70% instead of (i assumed) 50%
yeah It's probably 50% Did you know you can reload your day and try again for a new gender? I did that when I was testing something else out and was surprised! I'm making a new video that will include some more uncommon things people may not know

Can you remake lou's spice like you could ruby's spice on the gamecube? I used ro make all my money that way.
So far I haven't found out a way to do that but if your looking for a more hands off approach I think Sheeps are pretty cool since you can get them to their final Wool pretty easy and they are lower maintenance than cows but female star cows just make so much money with 700+ per milk and you can milk twice a day

Yeah! Turning all the basic fruits into seeds is very useful
Just so your aware you can keep your chickens outside 24/7 all year round- no chicken feed- no loss of health or hearts- and i get gold and fertilized eggs all the time

I was going to get it on the switch since I like the idea of playing it in bed but I'm happy I got PC> Its easier to stream but I can still see myself buying it for switch later on. Are you trying to figure out what you want it on?

Try ordering something like fodder or bird feed > then takakauro will go to the city to buy it and don't order the animal the same day > he'll bring home the horse and allow you to choose between brown, white and black 💜

My turnips died in the summer and idk why. I did only water 1x a day prior to this.
We talked about this on Twitch. It seems like they were ready to be harvest but we left them in the ground too long. I did the same thing - I think when the square is yellow it means you can harvest it

I'll write that down! The clippers are automatic when you buy a sheep so you don't have to worry about that. Tool upgrades are how many times you have used a certain tool and then if you are far enough

The milky soup trick Is good but don't do it with s or s*I'll since those are the most expensive for normal cows
The S rank milk is 150G so I think it'd just break even but Normal SS Milk is when you wouldn't want to do that

I loved both games and they offer different experiences. This game is more about family, raising your child and evolving with everyone. Friends of Mineral Town is more classic farming sim with more to do.
Instead of potatoes in spring,do watermelons they sell more. (and carry on into summer). then go melons, winter is potatoes.

Yeah someone else said this too but the cost of watermelons @ vesta makes potatos barely win out in year 1. Tbh you wanna grow everything though for hybrids cause who wants to just use the basic seeds for all 6 chapters :( but yea. Either way you can't go wrong
@@Pawserve true. i think what it is - is that watermelons DO carry over the summer and you get them a few days earlier which can help you get a sheep - which puts you on the path of success. where potatoes gets you to day 8 (since they are 7.5 days).
and that is also true LOL. ultimately you grow everything because you need to hybrid everythiing haha

@@Shikamarulover12345 trees are very good for money early but yeah i hear that. animals are such a good way to make money. in the OG I used mainly star cows and thats it and could buy most of the stuff (but fishing helped me buy the teddy bear for 1mil)

You don't need chicken food, they can stay outside all day in all seasons
yeah even during bad weather too. Taking away animal sickness and death really does mean all animals can stay out regardless as long as there is enough grass to feed them and their health should stay max or near max

Watermelon are more profitable during Spring than Potatoes.
That's what I thought and someone told me Potatoes beat out Watermelon by a little bit since you have to factor in buying the seeds. I felt weird to include farming like this anyway since hybrids are so important for year 2 and onward and we need crops of all kinds to get the process started 😭

I think we have to wait until they go away :( I tried to hoe and sickle the area but nothing worked. After a few days weeds will slowly start to go away
