Good review but you buried the lead. The big news isn't the slight changes in the GT2 Stinger but the huge improvement in the base GT-Line version with the new 2.5L turbo 4 that's now found in at least 7(!) KIA, Hyundai, and Genesis models. That change reduces the difference in 0-60 times between the GT-Line and GT models from almost 2 seconds to about half a second (5.2 vs 4.7). Comparably equipped with RWD the GT-Line has an MSRP of $38,390 vs the GT2 MSRP of $51,290, a difference of nearly $13,000! Adding AWD is an MSRP upcharge of $2200 on either model, raising the GT-Line MSRP to a still screaming bargain price of $40,590. Furthermore, the GT-Line Stinger compares favorably vs the K5 GT. Same engine but the RWD Stinger doesn't suffer from the handling issues associated with putting 300 HP/311 lb ft of torque to the pavement in a FWD vehicle with neither AWD nor an LSD. For slightly more than a price bump of $3,000 between a loaded K5 GT and an RWD GT-Line Stinger you get a far more upscale interior, sound system, and other amenities. And for another $2200, the Stinger GT-Line has AWD that isn't offered at any price on the K5 GT. Reviewers are often seduced by focusing solely on the highest performance versions of a vehicle. And KIA, of course, would prefer to extract thousands more $$$ from their customers. But in the case of the Stinger, the GT-line represents a huge savings in both price and weight compared to the GT2.

I love this car it's tiny in the back seat with me at 6'2" also the transmission tunnel in the back is huge. Great car but I consider it a large coupe with room for two small kids!
I tried the GT-Line and it was the laggiest transmission I have ever experienced. I was so disappointed. I love the Stinger but boy that trans needs work. Torque only appears present at 4k RPM. Did you try to 2021 or 2022? I compared both Gt-line and the new 2.5T has far better torque delivery although I'll admit 1st gear is slow to build boost. Compared to the k5GT it was a better fit to put the power down.

Nice looking car.
This or the G70?
the way i see it is that, the gv70 has the "luxury" atmosphere from genesis, by getting concierge, i believe longer basic warranty, and i guess quality inside, however since genesis are mainly sold at kia dealers, you dont really feel the "luxury" lol, so id say go with whatever feels best for you. keep in mind there are rumors of the gv70 getting the full digital cluster next year, which is a massive add on imo.
We look forward to giving you guys a full comparison next week!
@@unrealisticgoals In Australia, Genesis has a five year warranty. Kia has a seven year warranty which extends to 10 years if serviced at the same dealer. I tossed up between the G70 and the fully loaded Stinger GT here in Oz and the Stinger won. If there wasn't a Stinger, I would have bought the G70 over any German car in the same class.
Unlike many people, I don't mind the analogue cluster. The digital system between the two gauges provides enough info when needed. Good enough for Rolls Royce to have analogue clusters so why not Kias?
Sign me up for the G70, the stinger is fugly what's up with plastic intake on the side uhh.
Can you guys picture a Kia Telluride GT, with the same 3.3L twin turbo V-6 and a sports suspension? It would compete directly against the Ford Explorer ST!!
Do the outside mirrors and the steering wheel position link to the memory seats?
Yes
@@CarConfections Excellent! Thank you.
I just hate that it doesn't come with a manual transmission.
This car is gorgeous and extremely fast. I don’t know why Kia decided to end the Stinger line after 2022. This is Kia’s only real sports car that can go against the big boys. There’s the K5 GT which is a sweet ride also but it’s more of your family/sports sedan. Maybe Kia, will change their minds.
16:19 is what you're here for!
I want someone to name another car at this price that has the same power and usability as this, I dare you
Best for the price no doubt🔥
Not a lot of piano black! Gimme 5!
Price $ ?
Price is discussed near the end of the test drive
I love this car it's tiny in the back seat with me at 6'2" also the transmission tunnel in the back is huge. Great car but I consider it a large coupe with room for two small kids!
I tried the GT-Line and it was the laggiest transmission I have ever experienced. I was so disappointed. I love the Stinger but boy that trans needs work. Torque only appears present at 4k RPM. If you get a Stinger go GT2 all the way. Maybe the one I drove was a lemon but it was very disappointing. Made me decide on a K5 GT-Line AWD instead
Did you try to 2021 or 2022? I compared both Gt-line and the new 2.5T has far better torque delivery although I'll admit 1st gear is slow to build boost. Compared to the k5GT it was a better fit to put the power down.
@@TheBrolosopher1993 It was a 2022. I was shocked by my experience. I have not driven the K5 GT on the other hand (only the K5 GT-Line). I assume very very similar engine.
final year of the stinger
Cap
I wish i could have one...
Uh, the gas…
Wish this car was in a v8
