I don’t understand why so many people, starting with MKBHD, keep repeating the same tired comment: “Why does this phone exist?” It exists because not all of us want to carry around a phone the size and weight of a brick. There isn’t a phone on the market that delivers the kind of battery life people claim to need. Let’s be honest, you know that’s true. If you're a content creator, you're going to need to carry battery packs. That’s just the reality of today’s mobile tech. So please, stop jumping on the bandwagon with the rest of the indoctrinated crowd. Try thinking beyond your programming. I thought;ly enjoyed the rest of your review/observations. Thank you.
I’m the target. I want a light phone with big screen. I dont play games and take photos only to scan document. This is the perfect phone for me !

I have a Flip 6 for the same reason and will be switching to the Edge. I don't need Ultra specs, I need a phone that doesn't feel like a tablet in my pocket but still does what I use it for (which isn't much compared to a content creator).
As a flip 6 owner, may I ask why do you switch? I have it since october, still in perfect conditions; basically as light and thin as the Edge, but you can fold it as well...thx for your answer.@christianwade113

7:05 you nailed it. It's not a replacement, it's a new category. You can love it or hate it, but you'll still be free to chose whatever Samsung appeals more to you. As I read more about this phone, I better understand why it exists. The marketing in Brazil is "no mínimo, o máximo", which can be translated loosely as "at the minimum, the maximum", as if you have the most features possible at the minimum weight ant thickness possible.
I love this comment. because everyone is complaining like it's replacing something from Samsung lineup. It's just another offering. Hopefully in the next iteration they use the newer battery technology. As an ultra user would definitely get this.

Bro coming from the Fold 6 after owning every Fold since the 2nd gen, holy moly that hand feel! Thought maybe I would miss my Fold but nope, not at all. It just feels so good and you are spot on about the trickery to the brain.

Back in the S6 days, they also offered the plus model aside from the base edge so it was S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge Plus. Best way to go about this.

If they put silicon carbon battery they could easily put 4500mah battery but sadly samsung is too lazy

i had the flip 3 for a couple years and now this phone, yes it does catch eyes but the biggest feature is how it feels in one hand it just feel really convenient, especially if you if smaller hands. yet the current price its not worth it only with a good deal i can see a lot of people buying this for 500-600 range.

I use a Samsung S23 which has a 3900 mAH battery so the Edge is just right for me
E waste imo. Batteries are already biggest reason causing older phones to be usable. If this phone had user replaceable battery like old phones maybe, but at that point youre carrying a spare battery anyway so you might as well have a thicker phone.
Id much rather have a smaller thicker phone with very good battery life but companies want us to update when its not needed.

At this price I don't think I can use a without the periscope camera. I wouldn't mind the ultra wide but the periscope or an optical zoom lens must be there

What are those smart glasses you have that let you look at a virtual monitor? And can you clearly see fine sharp fonts if typing a document? It looks awesome!
Weight was the single most reason why I bought Edge 20. Motorola has consistently been doing a great job of providing light large screen smartphones for years now and I'm glad people are finally noticing the pleasures of using a thin and light phone.
I believe it exist so Samsung can eventually phase out the plus model in their lineup. We'll have to wait and see though.

AOD takes up more battery than its worth! Its always in my top 3 or 4 per day at using battery. Crazy!

I actually really want it because my S24 Ultra physically hurts my hands to use. I think I’m developing arthritis and I’d love a lighter phone, but I don’t want a smaller phone. However, I’m not sure I can give up cameras.
