Characters should have flaws and Hank being an alcoholic wife beater made him more complex and it's not like it didn't bite him in the ass. You are allowed to show people being bad in fiction, even if they're supposed to be heroes. That's why I'm still mad that Disney made Faverau axe Tony's alcoholism from Iron Man 2 which is why we get the palladium poisoning and it just doesn't work nearly as well. Also to return to the original point, Black Widow uses her sexuality and feminity as a weapon, it's her character. A woman reclaiming her sexuality and using it to her own benefit isn't problematic, it's one of the cornerstones of modern feminism.

For the record, she never hated the costume nor thought it was created to sexualize her. She hated the fact that while everyone else on the cast got legitimate questions about their characters, she was constantly asked things pertaining to the suit and her body. The Red Room is such an interesting (and kinda effed up) concept that Marvel didn't explore really well or enough in the MCU. She's an amazing character that could have been explored well in the MCU, of course (the movie didn't do much to work on the Widow's backstory), but that doesn't mean she's a shallow character.

I got the distinct impression that Scarlett liked very much the way that she was perceived in those movies. Specifically because of how she hammed it up. Scarlett seemed to like Scarlett a whole lot and it was a big reason why I didn't care for her/her character in the earlier days of the MCU. I didn't start to warm up to her/her character until Endgame.

The first time she appeared in her costume was the best one, she should not feel bad about it. Her hair was amazing, her costume was amazing, and her acting and moves were the best ones. She later deiced to tone down the "sexy" levels which I think it did not work out very good. The thing is that Black Widow has to be very sexy and deadly at the same time, it is part of the character. She did a perfect job on the first movie (Iron Man 2).
In 2010 I was 12, and I'd say Scarlett was my first Hollywood crush from Ironman 2 and HomeAlone 3.
