Loved seeing your top 25 and happy to see that Hostel made the list. My top five would be: The Shining Session 9 (psychological horror set in an abandoned mental hospital) Paranormal Activity (scared the shit out of me the first time I saw it) The Exorcist Last Shift (another psychological horror set in a police station that is set to be permanently closed)
You know, I might be one of the few people who actually likes Hostel 3. It's not good- but the one scene with the steampunk woman killer just stole the show for me. But, 1 and 2 really were good. Although, 1 could have had first half shortened and second half lengthened- spent too much time on the sex drugs and king of swing stuff for my taste.
@@sharonpopolow6874 I haven't seen part 3 but might give it a try. They are making a Hostel tv series with Eli Roth producing it, looking forward to it
As usual.. Even if I don’t agree with your list I do like how you explain why it’s your favorite. Also a few movies I don’t know about or just haven’t seen. I’ll have to watch some of those movies.
I wouldnt consider myself a "huge" horror fan like most. But man, Evil Dead 1/2, The Thing, and Dead Again are straight HEAT. Great list, i havent heard of all of these so ill definitely check some out. I heard Train to Busan was really good so ill probably start with that one.
I need to see more horror movies but my current favorite horror movie is The Thing but from the clips I've seen, The Blob (80s version) seems even scarier.
My top 12 favorites are currently :) 1. Perfect blue 2. Dead alive 3. Evil dead 2 4. Train to Busan 5. Scream 6. New nightmare 7. VhD: Bloodlust 8. The lost boys 1987 9. Fright night 1985 10. Macabre 2009 11. The blob 1988 12. Coraline
I agree. THHE is not just a good horror movie, but REALLY well done, too- cinematography, acting, story, character development, special effects. One of my all time faves of horror genre and maybe even top 50 of all genres.
I always love these videos especially about horror movies and I'd have to really look over my favourites plus saw one recently called The Autopsy of Jane Doe was pretty cool to me but my Top 10 would go like this I think 1. Friday the 13th 2. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3. Ring 4. A Nightmare on Elm Street 5. Halloween 6. The Thing 7. Evil Dead 2 8. Psycho 9. Audition 10. Hereditary
@denisedisla467 Yeah, it is, and seeing it for the first time gave me whiplash lul, especially that scene of her waiting to answer the phone while that bag sits there.
Hellraiser is an undisputed top 5 horror film of all time! Prob has some of the best lore in horror films right next to Evil Dead and it sucks how everything went downhill after the second film but the 2022 remake is a much needed right step in the direction.
Plenty of great picks on here! I also love that The Descent is on your list as it's my all time favorite horror film. Don't worry about the sequel lol it's not really worth it.
Good list..yess,Evil Dead is at the top…but there’s Black Christmas,Tourist Trap,Exorcist,Omen,Rose Mary’s Baby,Jaws,Dawn of the Dead,Creep Show,Deranged,Misery,
A common misconception I’ve noticed: Frankenstein is not the monster in the original novel. He is the doctor who created the monster, and the main protagonist So the titles “son of Frankenstein” and “bride of Frankenstein” are technically incorrect
As an 80’s kid I was exposed to literally hundreds of horror movies from the OG Universal Monsters to B-rated movies that crossed genres from comedy to sci-fi/action/drama, etc. I typically put shark 🦈 horrors like Jaws and Deep Blue Sea into their own category and I watch them during Shark Week. Aliens is another that I typically put into a sci-fi, rather than horror, section. Comedy horror, like Abott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, Shaun of the Dead, Renfield, are all campy good fun. Then you have your traditional categories of zombies, slashers, monsters, vampires, werewolves, possessions, etc. I like your list. I would’ve put Blade, Underworld, Lost Boys, Night of the Comet, Monster Squad, Leprechaun, Poltergeist, Jennifer’s Body, Phantasm, Wishmaster, within the top 50. Just not Children of the Corn or Rosemary’s Baby. Didn’t Parasite win the OSCAR? There truly are so many great October movies out there worth watching just for fun. 🧛♂️☠️😈👹🐺👻🎃🤘😎❤️

Shame on you Ryan, you missed the best Horror Movie ever, Berserk 2016

YES! Evil Dead is also my favorite and the retrospective is how I found your channel. So to have 1 and 2 on here….I salute you sir 🫡🎃
My Top 5 Horror Films
5. From Beyond
4. Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me
3. The Blair Witch Project
2. Carnival of Souls
1. Jacob's Ladder

What I respect about The shining is how unsettling it is from beginning to end outside of the supernatural aspects
I agree 100 percent
Trick R Treat along with a bunch of halloween based movies have been a tradition for me since I was a kid.

I've been watching a new horror movie every night of October. So far the best one I've seen out of the three I watched this month is The Vigil
All of your horror videos have gotten me so excited for Halloween this year
Hellraiser has always given me heavy god hand vibes, hope your day is going well Ryan, cheers :)
Oh wow, you put Hellraiser above Nightmare on Elm Street, I definitely wouldn’t do that.
I KICK ASS FOR THE LORD!!! Lol love me some deadalive don’t hear it mentioned enough that ending is insane

8. The lost boys 1987
9. Fright night 1985
10. Macabre 2009
11. The blob 1988
12. Coraline
Coraline is legitimately one of the scariest films I’ve ever seen in my life, and it doesn’t help I thought it was a kids film when I saw it at age 8.
I find it funny how you included Coraline, I mean you're not wrong though.
Yea I think if a horror movie takes place on Halloween it gets an extra point just for giving us a movie we can watch every Halloween.
But Halloween is a romantic time not scary time
Jacob’s Ladder is my favorite horror movie and one of my favorite movies of all-time in general. That one sticks with you.
the hills have eyes is my number 1
Its not really scary its just creepy

Original *IT* is sooooo good, I rewatched that so many times.
@@InfamyOrDeath-__-Ikr I like it a lot more than the Remake. Tim Curry was at his peak.
Does Flatliners (1990) count as a horror movie? Love the OG with Keifer Sutherland. It was hard to shake off the first time I saw it.

A common misconception I’ve noticed: Frankenstein is not the monster in the original novel. He is the doctor who created the monster, and the main protagonist
So the titles “son of Frankenstein” and “bride of Frankenstein” are technically incorrect
Not there not. Son follows Baron, the son of Henry
