    I would get him a big catio instead. Adults need a MINIMUM of 8x4x6. If you can go bigger, definitely do. They have catios for pretty cheap, and you can even convert dog kennels that have that exact size for him. You can wrap them with pvc coated hardware cloth and UVB resistant zip ties. He would be much happier with some climbing space.

    That's a bummer that he doesn't trust you after that fiasco, but these guys are smart. As long as you handled him well in time, he will learn to trust again for sure.

    What protocols are in place to ensure the enclosure is fortified for hurricanes/other natural disasters? Same with the screen cages behind the waterland tubs? Along with the potentiality of blown debris causing damage to both types of enclosures allowing the animals to get out??

    • @Southernskyranch
      @Southernskyranch Год назад +1

      I can’t speak for them, but typically animals are pulled from the enclosures in the event of a hurricane.

    • @Scorgehorder
      @Scorgehorder Год назад

      @JuicyMako that's fine and all, but it isn't an appropriate security protocol because there are a lot of ways "picking them up to bring them inside" can go wrong. I.e. what if nobody is home because everyone went on vacation, what if a microburst happens suddenly in that area, what if one of the trees falls over, what if the animal is hiding and you can't immediatley find it. Hence why I'm asking about their SOP for it because I'm genuinely interested. And it only takes enough force from a grown adult punch to break the screens on those screen cages (if they are the industry standard screen cages, which is an assumption I'm making off them using waterland tubs).

      No animal is left outside during the hurricanes...

      @@Scorgehorder Someone is on property at all times, specially if there are tropical storms let alone any natural disasters.

      Realistically there is never an "everyone went on vacation" at the same time when there are so many animals involved. Don't ask me how I know 😂

    What a trash enclosure. I think you should live in a shed if you think that is adequate.
