    Please note that for best results and to avoid any spotting, it is advisable to wash the car on an overcast day or under the shade if possible as direct sunlight can cause the foam/shampoo to dry faster than usual. Unfortunately, in the video, the weather changed from an overcast forecast to a rather bright sunny day while recording. However, the regular rinsing (as shown in the video) prevented any spotting even when washing under the sun :)

    Great video! Thanks for taking the time to do this.
    Two things you left out:
    1. Grit guards for the buckets!
    2. Drying solution for the final drying process!

      @EVKiwis  2 года назад +1

      Hi Jim, excellent points there, appreciate your input! I’ve personally felt that drying has worked pretty well with just the microfiber towel without the need for any solution but grit guards would certainly be an great add 🙂

      @@EVKiwis Do some of your own research. Look up “Pan the organizer” on RUclips.

    Thanks for this video, filmed half-way around the world from where I live. Please caution your audience to be careful with a pressure washer by a) using a wide angle 15^ nozzle and b) testing the output pressure at less than 1000 psi/ 68 bar. I'd also be careful and not leave cleaning microfiber on any surface where they might pickup grit.

  • @igormord8636
    @igormord8636 Год назад

    I suggest folks also looks up other similar videos to see a few things done wrong (not perfect) here such as ... never place what will be touching your car on the floor. Many detail shops have a policy ... whatever hits the floor goes straight to the garbage. Buckets need to use that filter thing to trap dirt on bottom of bucket. Drying bottom of sides where most dirt is and then moving on to the front (the most visible area) is not something I would do, etc. Thanks for the effort though.

    So many people snowfoam first without doing the pressure rinse! And so many people also do a contact wash at the snowfoam stage!! I pretty much do exactly as you have done in this video!

    • @EVKiwis
      @EVKiwis  2 года назад +1

      Hi Dan, couldn’t agree more! The pre rinse before snow foam is crucial in my opinion. It’s also recommended to use a pH balanced snow shampoo which can be left on the car for longer than a standard car wash shampoo which is essential for a true touchless wash 🙂

    • @danpaul4975
      @danpaul4975 2 года назад

      @@EVKiwis definitely. I use Wax Planet 8below, not the foamiest of foams but a fantastic cleaner, but not sure how neutral it is. Either way, the car almost looks clean enough even before I've touched it!!!

  • @Goncalvesnunoc
    @Goncalvesnunoc 2 года назад +1

    Note from a detailed: DO NOT leave shampoo sit for longer than 5 Mins on paint. The urgency of rinsing soap off glass not critical as it's a harder surface than your clear coat. always rinse painted areas 1st. And avoid using snowfoam shampoos in direct sunlight

    • @EVKiwis
      @EVKiwis  2 года назад +2

      Hi there, appreciate your input and you’ve some great points there! The foaming shampoo used is pH balanced and is meant to be used as a prewash and can be safely left on for 10 to 15 minutes without affecting the coating. The shampoo used for bucket wash part was not left on and was rinsed immediately. I had also already posted a comment explaining why the video unfortunately ended up being in sunlight as sadly the weather quickly changed from what was forecasted.

    • @EVKiwis
      @EVKiwis  2 года назад

      You can absolutely have more foam by increasing the concentration level of the foam shampoo to the water. I used the recommended 1:10 ratio but if you increase this, you will definitely get a lot more foam 🙂

    Nice video! Thats a good process.
    I have a M3 RWD on order which hopefully getting early March - can't wait! Curious to know if you guys went for a ceramic coating or clear front wrap, or are not worrying about it? Its certainly not something I have ever done with my cars, and fairly expensive, but I note that quite a few people are doing it.

    • @EVKiwis
      @EVKiwis  2 года назад +1

      Thanks Jonathan and that’s super exciting. Congrats and welcome to the Tesla family! 🙂 We have neither ceramic coating or PPF on the car at this stage. I personally chose not to get PPF as I would rather just have the car repainted or rewraped in the future if required so cannot justify the cost of PPF. But that's just my opinion as a lot of owners have indeed got PPF done. I’ve bought a DIY ceramic coating kit for $100 which I still need to apply to car so will try do a video on that.

    • @kiwijonowilson
      @kiwijonowilson 2 года назад +1

      @@EVKiwis Great, thanks, look forward to hearing how your ceramic coating kit goes as that is certainly cost effective!

      @@EVKiwis BTW, I now have my M3 and its awesome! Much quicker than I thought it would be and really nice to drive on those twisty roads (amazing how it corners so well with all the weight!). Seems I was very lucky with my timing given the now high lead times and +$4k price. Adaptive cruise control (even without autosteer - as most of the time I prefer to steer) is highly underrated IMO - much more relaxed trips and I don't need to engage / disengage it all the time. Only slight downside is, as I expected, real world range is a lot lower than the advertised range but still plenty (~350km without driving economically) to be practical on road trips.

    • @EVKiwis
      @EVKiwis  2 года назад

      @@kiwijonowilson that's amazing news, sounds like you're loving it! I was certainly expecting the prices to rise but not as much and as quick as they happened so you definitely timed it perfectly :) Couldn't agree more that it's such a pleasure to drive on road trips and autopilot/ACC reduces so much driving fatigue. EV's range is dependant on a lot of different factors and is never the advertised range for pretty much all EVs. Though it's nice to be able to always charge these LFP batteries to 100% now unlike the previous 80% that was recommended for NCA batteries.

    • @EVKiwis
      @EVKiwis  2 года назад

      Fair enough, we are all entitled to our own opinions 🙂 It doesn’t actually take that long to wash it and for those that like to look after their car, a good car wash is a very enjoyable process! And not everyone can afford to get a full PPF done to their cars so it’s a great alternative for them to have a proper wash routine instead.
