I'm glad that there are fragments of the original structure still at League Park. Some old ballparks, like Ebbets Field, The Polo Grounds, Sportsman's Park, and Tiger Stadium have NO part of the original ballpark structure on site. Sure...sometimes there is a playable baseball field, but all trace of the place we sat and cheered...the actual ballpark structure...remains on site. Braves Field has one entire section of stands still remaining as well as the old ticket office. Fragments of the Forbes Field outfield wall still exist on site. But go to the site of Griffith Stadium or Shibe Park and there is nothing there, save for an historical marker, to ever clue you in that once there was a ballpark there.
As a local guy, Cleveland's Division of Parks & Recreation really keeps the clamps on that place. Just wish they could do the other parks the same way as far as upkeep and overall quality!! Great video and keep up the wonderful work!!
@@ryanvason6818 70's and 80's was the worst for that area. I played ball there in the mid 90's and it was soon after that when shit started getting built new. It's obviously still not a good area, but the 70's was not the time to be there for anyone.
They are doing a similar restoration project in Detroit with the old Navin Field site, except here, it is all new structure instead, with the failure to preserve at least some of once was there of its original structure.
A cool video, but some history of when the park was built and abandoned, how it became what is now and other highlights would have been good additions.
I believe that LEAGUE PARK hosted the 1920 World Series…LP may have also hosted games in the ‘48 WS (but not in ‘95, ‘97 nor ‘16 😎) // Joe DiMaggio either started or ended his 56-game hit streak at LP (I think it ended there) // And, I believe that the CLEVELAND RAMS hosted an NFL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME at LP circa 1945 // I want to visit during my next trip to THE LAND // Thanks for sharing! 👊🏻
For a time, the Indians used both League Park and Municipal Stadium for home games with holiday and weekend games going to the larger Municipal in general. The 1948 WS was exclusively at Municipal. The 1945 NFL championship was also at Municipal.
Love the old ball parks! So much history and character.

I love how that kicked in patch of grass down the right field line is the exact foot print of the grandstands. Very cool review!!!
Here’s the original home of the Los Angeles Rams.
Cleveland* Rams
Great channel, love the focus on the old ballparks, alot of history and memories in those places
I really enjoyed the subject, thanks for the tour. I likely would never have walked the site otherwise.
Maybe go on weekend next time.
bro you just in the hood on hough chilling.... lol... played a shit ton of games on that field growing up
He wouldn't have been there in the 70's

Another awesome vid. Very interesting 👌🏿
You just film this today? I can tell by the beautiful weather here in Cleveland today.
Yes
It’s funny I just watched your video on the old Browns stadium today.
Thanks for what you do! Love these vids
Visited there, this past summer. The museum is tiny, but pretty cool. The whole experience is great, for baseball fans.

Awesome! I hope you were able to hit Cedar Point after! :D

Think maybe you could do Shea Stadium next or maybe Milwaukee County Stadium or maybe Giants Stadium? Good video though.
Ive heard this place doesnt get a lot of use because you have to pay to rent the field.
380 down the left field line? The deepest in the majors today is Wrigley Field at 355.
Great video
Terrible view of the field from outside. You need to do it again when it's open. Looking through Cain fence can't see shit
I hope the Cleveland Indians don’t change the name
They change their name to the Cleveland Guardians.
Pretty cool, thanks
Nice!
What’s a “jewel box ballpark” in the first place? It’s never explained
The most forgotten place. Cleveland.
Babe Ruth hit his 500th career home run at League Park.
