Took 2 trips to Florida in van in late 70s. Bed,potty, beer cooler. Week of sightseeing. Who knew that was gonna be a big deal. Love watching your channel. Saw your first setup.
CHROME, Thanks for letting us visit you at home. I love what you did with your van! I'm trading in my 2004 Sprinter for an almost new Promaster later this year. I have a 159" WB extended with a rear bed also .. sooooo much room for me and my critters. Plan on being in BC next spring ...so beautiful! Give Cruz a smooch for me!
Can't wait to show my husband this video! We just got a 2011 E250 that he's working out of for now until we can retire. I love what you've done with this! We are excited and have been planning to hit the road for a long time and it's gonna happen for us, we just have to have patience! We have 2 large dogs and 2 cats (all rescues) so we are gonna be pulling either a travel trailer or cargo that we build out. He's a carpenter so no issues there. Just gotta make the plans. So glad to see you thriving in your van! I started watching you in the beginning and you've come a long way and I love, love, love it! Peace!
I remember when I started watching your videos a year ago. "Oh I'm a city boy and I love vandwelling in the city" ... And then you started exploring and enjoying your amazing country and NOW look at you! I absolutely love everything you've done to your van. It looks awesome. Thanks for the tour Chrome💖😘😍
i met this guy in naniamo, yes, he is all that cool !!! chrome buddy, you have done so much with what you say is no real knowledge of the how to-to, proves with perseverance you can do anything is you want it enough !!! your enthusiasm is contagious !!! p.s. joined patreon today and feel good about it!!!
I love your energy. I feel like you're not faking anything you say, and you're so humble; your van just seems so real and like you just jumped right into it. Great channel!
I really like the minimalist approach so that you can figure out what you really want/need before you spend a lot of money. I like thinking of my home as a ‘work in progress.’ If something isn’t working, reconfigure. Yours looks great right now though! Especially the growing, chubby bed warmer!
I started to follow you because you started your van with nothing. This was inspirational. I unfollowed you for the same reason, now that you are finished, made a career out of it, the story is "closed" for me. It just shows that in a short amount of time you turned your life around, look happy and healthy and enjoy your life with financial backing from the crowd. Well done, to make videos is taking a lot of care and time and you deserve it. I will pop in from time to time to check on your progress.
Best looking van arrangement around. You have come so far from that first van build. You couldn't be more comfortable than if you were in a condo, but you also have wheels.
Chrome, you need to stop thinking girls are default better at things like plants. I panic every time I am in charge of things taking care of plants. I have no green thumb and they will die if left with me to long! :) Your stylish van I couldn't even conceive of cause I just ain't that cool. I wish I was half as stylish as you are. :)
Everybody's van life situation is different from everybody else's, Chrome. People need to realize that their way is not the end-all and be-all of the universe. You did what was necessary to make life livable for you. There are a lot of things that you did for your van because you live in British Columbia that I would not do if I had a van because I live in South Central Texas. Totally different climates and environments and the needs could differ up to 180 degrees. It does not mean that your way or my way is better because each would suit the requirements necessary for the individual and where they live. So for those who like to tell you that you cannot do such and such in your van, my response is," Really ? Get a grip!".
My dad always had one of these Vans or similar makes. I wish I had one now and lived in it. Also I wish I saw this a year ago! “You need this and this and this to live in a van, and you don’t!” So true, wish I heard this sooner.
Keith from Divorce The Horse here. Chrome, I agree with you. I started out in a minivan with a cot, battery operated fan and plastic bins under my cot. I got along splendidly before I got my extended cargo van. No walls inside that when I got her either.
#DiscoForever!!! ❤️ Cruz is so cute I wait for notifications on his channel. Me and my 2 children are moving into our 2007 e450 in June 1st and in so excited. Thanks to you !!
I'm so glad that you and Cruz are living the life you want. 20 years ago I would have loved doing something similar but today i need my comfort zone a little bigger and more geared to old ladies. I love seeing what you're both up to and its good to see you so positive about living your adventure.
Chrome your home is awesome I love it and I love your channel ! Thank you simplifying things and showing how fast and easy it is to move in to your van ! Your channel rocks ! Weirdos unite !😊❤ much love from Florida!
And this is why I love your van build version most (except for the standing room; or the heating, which is still REALLY good - but integrated radiant floor heating is something I wanna put in!) it's less complicated, more adaptable and changeable as your needs change! It's also cheaper to repair, and less of a damage issue if you should run into any of this crazy hailstorm weather that's going around right now - can you imagine how EXPENSIVE it would be to repair/replace your solar, ceiling fan and windshield after something like that? Lots of people don't consider how their build is gonna hold up in this time of much more severe weather systems, but it's something that one should ALWAYS keep in mind right now, IMO. Love you Chrome & Cruz, stay Weird!
I love your build! It's really gorgeous; plus it's helped me to see how I can use some of my current home furnishings for my own build. For me that means being immediately comfortable in my new home. Also like you say about not having to do everything "they" say you have to reassures me that I can do this pretty easily and almost stress free.
I would love to see an entire video with you just talking about your days living in your van without all the stuff you have in it now. You are inspirational and earned my sub. :)
Thanks for simplifying this lifestyle for all of us. It's so good to know that when the time comes to travel - it doesn't have to so complicated. I like the idea of doing it as I go - not spending too much in the beginning.
Such a cool van build! I remember the bare bones times!! Currently working on our van right now, hopefully moving into it in a couple weeks. Stay safe 🥰
Love what you said about doing things your own way. I am the same way for sure. I take everyone's advice and use my own judgement on what I think will work or not. I've been a touring musician for many years of my life, I think the problem is people think they need WAY MORE than they actually do.
Wow, your van has been upgraded a LOT, since the other vids i have seen of your beginnings. So beautiful. I would love that exact setup. (I might add mosquito screening). Also love the music you use. ♥️
You have everything you need and more!! It just keeps getting better and better. Have to find a nitch for that maple syrup tho'. lol Looking good my friend. Stay weird cause normal sucks!!! Excellent information.
Been following you since your VANLIFE began ... you were born for this medium 🤙 ... thank you Crome 👌 I end every day up just taken in your videos ... with a big smile 😊 CONTAGIOUS ENERGY!
Fantastic, Chrome! I’ve watched you since you began your adventure with Disco. Your channel has become so professional with tons of enthusiasm and fun. Your van has only become more beautiful. Love seeing little Cruz, he’s a little shining star 🌟 and you’re a big one 🌟 Luv everything. 🤗
I love your style I don’t know how well you insulate the walls and your doors of your van some of the areas throughout the United States it’s cold at night time especially during the winter season
Been subbed for quite a while now. It's been very interesting seeing what you had before and watching you build what you have now. Was going to say something like "keep it up!" but I'm not going to say that because it's already a done deal. So I will simply say thank you for sharing your life and safe travels to you and Cruz! 💖
You have one of the better looking vans; really appealing color scheme.👍🏼👏🏼 The cabinet maker built very nice cabinets.👍🏼👏🏼 I really like the white and natural wood look of your original cabinets; the cabinet maker’s compliment them.👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Cruz👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼watch all his videos.
Very nice Chrome, I have been following you since the day you started in your van and you have done an excellent job. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I could talk forever. LOL Chrome we actually like that about you. We especially like listening to Cruz talk. Thanks for the Van tour update, Safe travels
Love this one man . Just start and do it .You don't need all that experience shit . You had a vido a little while ago with a gut and his wife who rented a van and put an air matrice in it .that was awsom . Love the videos man.
I absolutely love your cabinets! I have just started following you so I am playing catch up on videos but love the life you are living. Just got my bus a week ago...still working on gutting lol Hopefully soon enough I can get it done! Thanks for the inspiration!
It would be great to see a time lapse(?) video from day 1 to now of your van build. I've followed your channel almost from day 1. Your van build and life has been amazing. Thanks for sharing your life.
Yo Chrome I'm a fan from Miami Florida great video love it I started my van life with none of those and I still don't have solar power and doing it my setup is a little different than yours I have a c but I'm able to plug in and get power at work
I liked your idea of putting the trash can on the side door....I took it a step farther...remove the panel on the door and cut out some of the inner sheet metal and you can recess the trash can 3 3/4 inches into the door …..
The van looks great. I remember watching your first videos when you had almost nothing in there. I actually like your van build more than these professional sprinter van conversions.
I been watching your videos from the beginning and you have done a great job on building you van. Thank for sharing and looking forward for your future traveling. God bless you.
I sold my car yesterday, looking for a van right now about to start my own adventure! Thank you for the videos and for sharing Disco with us, he was amazing and Cruz seems like he's settling in nicely! Keep up the positive videos!
Thank you so much for showing us your pee bottle. I had to pause to go out to our van-in-progress to relocate a wide mouth stainless steel bottle that I bought on impulse and now I know why. Sweetie can use it as is and I have a P.. Precise so I can use it too. Win. Win. I keep watching van life tours because I nearly always find some information that I can adapt because I want our van to be minimalist, efficient and attractive. But in saying that I have taken some great ideas from maximumist, inefficient and disorganised van conversions.
I absolutely love those wood/white cabinets, very classy looking and definitely sets the look of the van along with the gray panels...safe travels Chrome and Cruz from Long Island.
Badge, he could live in a burlap sack - it's his glass-totally-full attitude that makes him so great! Like your "Not asking for permission, just telling you how I'm doing this" makes you so great!
I'm addicted to your chanel but can't seem to get them in order. Such fun watching.
Took 2 trips to Florida in van in late 70s. Bed,potty, beer cooler. Week of sightseeing. Who knew that was gonna be a big deal. Love watching your channel. Saw your first setup.
Still working my way through all the vids while I’m “working” from home! 🐶❤️

OMG Chrome, at 10:00 that BAG by the plant was not looking like I know it is to be... for Cruz.
Do you know what it looked like??? LOL
HAHAHA glad I'm not the only one who had to look twice. I had to check the comments to see if anybody else saw it lol.
I really think you could have your own television show. You are awesome and everyone loves watching your videos.
I remember when I started watching your videos a year ago. "Oh I'm a city boy and I love vandwelling in the city" ... Mary Ellen Cook I love that vanlife is so completely individual. 🐶❤️

All of the cosmetic and 'cleanliness make it more special. I'm '"in" to vintage rigs; they always bring an extra twist into the picture.
I have loved your home and watching it become more homey for you and Disco now Cruz. 🐶🐶💞
I'm a forever Patreon!
Thank you Chrome!😎

Everyone seems to know how to do so much.
I feel so slow.😭😂
Love your style bro. I can see you've evolved, but I was looking for the two different shoes!...😎👍
You have one of the better looking vans; really appealing color scheme.👍🏼👏🏼

JYSK is actually a Danish company Chrome, not Canadian. :P But it's all over the world. We have lots of them in Sweden too.
