Pity with the troubles. I'm in awe of you australians daring the outdoors in a place where every form of life will take delight in finishing you off .. Happy trails!
Great to see the up. Best to get the shake out done here while things are relatively straight forward and you have a good brains trust with you all good experience for later on. Can't wait to see the next one
Hope you get the problem sorted , I had a similar problem with my dr650, put it on the dyno and got it sorted! (Previous owner had put a larger main jet in ) iHappy travels 🎉
Sounds like the previous owner has done the BST Magic to the carb. I've done it to two DR's with great results but this last one has the plugs sooting up like yours. I dropped the needle one position to lean it up a bit as a temporary fix before my last trip to the high country but believe my problem is the float height as it sometimes leaks from the overflow pipe. You could possibly have a too big a pilot jet also or like you said you've restricted air flow with the sock and over lubed the air filter. You were only 30 minutes from me at Kangaroo Valley.
So close yet so far! We stopped in the Valley for a cold drink and carried on. We swapped out the needle and jet for something more standard - running sweet now.
@@2wheels2everywhere22 Cool, definately sounds like the BST Magic was done to your bike which involves grinding the needle down a bit. Glad the standard needle fixed your problem👍.
If the bike is running rich with a modded carb probably worth replacing the needle and needle jet, the needle jet has a tendency to become oval if the needle is not central in the jet, you can sometimes see the wear on the needle but after market needles are steel so don’t show the wear as much, the factory needle is anodised aluminium, factory needle jets were brass on the earlier ones but the newer ones or at least the new needle jets from Suzuki are steel so as not to wear as much I guess. I replaced needle and needle jet on my DR before shipping it to Europe and the fuel economy improved a fair bit.
Thank you. Using CyberLink Director Pro. I hear Davinci Resolve is good and it's free. Cyberlink is relatively easy to learn & use but it goes slow now & again and has even crashed on me once.
New subscriber.. hello from Ireland 🇮🇪👍
Welcome Deidre! Hope you enjoy the journey. 😊✌🏼
@rayurlich am binge watching from the start 👍

Cheers Rhys! Hope all is well in the Mount matey.
Great stuff...Braidwood - Cooma is a nice part of the world..
Sure is Simon. Riding in the rain was a bit sketchy though! Cheers, Ray.
Stick to the Pies!!
I've learnt my lesson Gav!

Thanks fella! Yes best to fix things here where there are parts & mechanics who know DR's inside & out!
Great to see you off! Hope you get the bike sorted mate!
Cheers James! Great to hear from you mate. Large bike problems sorted. A couple of minor ones to go.
@@2wheels2everywhere22 good news! Wheels up mate!

It would be boring if everything went to plan 😜 ...but you're on your way. Looking forward to the next one. Ride safe. X
Thank you! Yes stressful at the time but makes for a bigger challenge and better work stories. Cheers. :)
Good on ya mate! Got to be nice to finally be on the road!
Cheers Brent. yep loving it despite the challenges!
Sorry about the issues and the bad sandwich. Hope for better ride.
Cheers from Mexico
No worries Magnus. Cheers. 😊✌️
Great place to do a shakedown run. Hopefully you get all your dramas over with early.
How's the pie comparison ?
Kiwi pies ahead at the moment! Bike running good after finding a good shop to look at it.
Great video and adventure, sorry about your bad luck, hope you can replace the carborator....
Cheers mate. Found a good mechanic and running great now.
Are there no visors with wipers 😂
Hmmm... now there's a business idea! 😂
@rayurlich I want a 40% cut 😂😂

Yep. New needle & jet did the trick. Oh, and cleaning the excess oil from the filter didn't hurt either. Cheers.
You’re on an adventure and in the Aussie bush…lose the watch!
“What time is it?…Wednesday!…”
I thought it was rock stars who didn't wear watches...? 😆😎✌️
Nice vid. It's not an adventure without some shit parts. My carb gives me trouble all the time I think fuel injected is the way to go.
Cheers Brent. Yep next bike will be injected for sure!
Eh mate just a thought they wouldn't have transported the bike upside down....
Haha no mate. Can only go right side up for forklift.
May I suggest you do not ride at dawn or dusk or night in Oz. Skippy vs m.cycle is not a good game.
100%. Avoiding those times absolutely!
Have you followed Riding On Egg Shells
No. Will check it out. Cheers!
Not too late to buy a brand new bike 🤣
Hahaha. It is unfortunately as the paperwork is all done. Plus I don't have the budget!
Great stuff mate. What editing program are you using ?
