You're right, Ektomorf used the sound of Soulfly 3 Years before Soulfly. Max and Zoli understand each other quite well, they also appear toghether on live performances.
Their music is so primitive! but there aren´t many other bands who fuckin kick ass like ektomorf does! When they´re playing live they beat the shit out of it! It´s amazing
yeah ok.. some bands like soulfly, chimaira or hatebreed might sound similar to ektomorf. but soulfly is a kind of modern thrash like ektomorf and the new "cores" (hatebreed,chimaira) have a similar sound to thrash on some riffs btw.. such a pity i couldnt go there. i was in germany during 2006.
i think you can not compare how someone holds up his fists and maybe the bands are sounding a bit the same but you should not say someone copies someone else. They´re writing there own songs and they are good.

nah soulfly and sepultura are different, otherwise they wud have the same name. speultura was a bit more technical than soulfly, but they are both brilliant

The Max Cavalera vocals, the ridiculous wah on the guitar in the solo. the roots bloody roots song construction. Great band though
