OMG!! I’m literally crying. Mrs Morton, you’ve got a fine grandson.
Yes you right
That Grandmother definitely wants them to be friends forever. Family!
She's dead, how can she want for anything?
@@prettyboyboo6901 her body is dead. Spirit is not.
@@skunkie110 What scientific evidence proves this dead body has a "spirit", much less that "spirits" exist,
@Goddess of Metal I was thinking the same thing. Gramma is still the boss even eight years after she passes. Whatever the case, it is beautiful to see neighbor helping neighbor through this mess.
@Goddess Of Metal Amen!
His grandmother is still looking after him...she brought the two old friends back together again. She seems like she was a special woman and she brought up her grandson right. Beautiful; but sad story.
I’m from Louisiana 1 thing I’ll never take away from Louisiana we don’t have much 1 thing that makes me proud is I love our southern hospitality . Our hearts so big but we get judged bc Louisiana known for being bad and etc . I really really wish I could meet the white guy and hug him protect him at all cost what a blessing
Ok. First the men in the video had me crying. Now your comment has me crying again. Does the heart good to see people coming together. After the last couple of years I think many of us are yearning for that. In my brief time in the South, I found people to be so giving and friendly. Lord I dont know how they do it though. With that heat I'd be miserable all the time lol.
@@jen30551 this video made me cry. I’m glad this video was posted not everybody is bad. Some of the coolest people is white people. Not just that my gf is white. And she one of the sweetest , caring person I ever knew. The white guy in the video remind me of her .
@Tashuna Ray just like I tell everyone who ask me I had this question asked to me a few times . I really think the lord punishing us . Deep down I think he wiping away our sins the city sinned so much that 1 storm is not enough to wipe our sins
@Tashuna Ray yea I’m here now . It flooded a little bit more parts that’s still flooded from hurricane ida
I'm from NYC but I lived in NOLA for a little while before Katrina and the southern hospitality I experienced there was real. People would say hello to me or wave at me from their cars, I felt welcomed right away. I told my friend from NYC about how friendly people were and he said, "watch out, they're gonna rob you". LMAO! No, no one wanted to rob me. They were just being nice.
"Brotherly Love" is beautiful. Loving others is the only solution that will transform our world.
Amen honey!!! So well put.... something we all know yet few practice. One race.... the human race! Love your neighbor as you love yourself. ❤ xo
We need a lot of starseeds also
You want to make us great again!? Look at these two guys coming together to deal with a terrible situation. No politics No race No violence. Just love for a fellow human who needed some help. That is the country that we should all want for us and our kids.
Amen. So well said. Thank you.
Amen!
❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️
A human being treated another human being kindly without racial judgement.
Why would you even think of race? That's the problem in this country. And these guy's were old friends if I heard that right..
I ❤️ when they called each other brother
Btw, just curious. What would be the state of body after 8 years. Its wasnt open, so earth and worms didn't have dissolved it
Most do. The media wants us to believe otherwise.
@@janh5199 No you got that backwards, the biased media wants us to be racially divided and labeling race, government also. Now it's caught up with us and now America isn't full of Americans, we're full of races
So let me get this straight, his grandmothers casket ends up on the lawn of a guy he knew 30 years ago?
That's wild
God works in mysterious ways
I call B.S. on these men knowing one another "30 years prior." That 'info.' was added to the story by the (Media.) It's what we call in the TV News Casting World as a "Play." It is a 'white lie' added to a "story," the "Play" was added and used to *Sensationalize* the story that is being told. FTR: A person will use a 'play' to pull the "heart strings" of a viewer. It's usually done to get people to "share the story" being told. Hence, to increase the viewership of the story that is being told.
@@jonnydavis75 Well, this is what i call B.S. on regarding your statement...
The fact that coffins don't just float around and end up on front lawns in this Country everyday is enough for this story to be "Increase Viewership" and get a lot of attention, I immediately clicked on it just for that reason alone, before even hearing about the 2 guys connection...
So with that being said, i'm calling B.S. on your logic.
@@thekarmalife2693 Prove those guys didn't know each other, then you can claim he nailed it.
Like i told him, it's pretty silly to claim that this story needed any more "Hype" or "Tear jerking" added to it than the story already has.
A friggin coffin is sitting on some guys lawn with a body in it...
That's all the "Hype" or whatever you wish to call it this story needs.
You all are trying to turn this "Political" is all this is about, just like you turn everything into.
If a dog is outside taking one, you'll find some way to start talking about how the media put the dog up to it or something..
It’s Lafitte they def went to school together
“Brotherly Love” is definitely beautiful.
Lord I’m crying with this man 😕
OMG...me too... Lord me too
Yes it's SAD
I so needed to see this act of kindness, respect and honor, just to feel like America still has some dignity left!....
I bet nobody before ever took a walk outside their house in the morning and saw a casket on their lawn and said " I hate when this happens"
Unless you live in Louisiana! 🙈
In south Louisiana this is something you grow up seeing. I have relatives that live next to a graveyard, where family members are buried. There was flooding and they woke up to an uncles casket on the front lawn. Nothing new in Louisiana.
Oh that’s wild. 😳
This breaks my heart so bad! Please someone help this man put his mother back in the ground please. God bless him.
He's getting help weren't you watching? His old buddy is helping him
wait for the next storm, she will float back downstream
Dude why it’s always these type of people trying to take advantage of whatever they can ? FEMA will help him bury his grandma back… he don’t need a go fund me

😲😲😲 life is insane.
But also beautiful when we treat eachother other with love and kindness. 😍😍😭😭
It really is insane. Laughing through my tears I couldn't help but think that grandmama is still bringing people together eight years after passing.
@ CBSmornings Thank you for your coverage. This brought tears to my eyes and hope in my heart. The gentleman in this story is my cousin and this is also my grandmother. The pain and sadness he felt as he squatted near the coffin was the same for myself and the rest of our family. Seeing this for me was like she died all over again. But after seeing her smiling face on the pictures brought back happy memories of her and to see that the neighbors from across the highway from where she lived will help to get her back to her final resting place, makes not only myself but the whole Morton Family grateful of the kindness and selflessness of the Coulon Family. Thank you Thank you Thank you.
Blessings to you and your sweet family.
Aw omg this made me cry 😭😭 god bless her.
me too.
Me too!

It’s so sad, but thank GOD were showing kindness for each other in desperate times ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
It was heart warming to see the two former childhood friends and neighbors help showing respect to one another.
Sad to see this mans pain, you can tell his pain is sincere and runs deep into his Heart !! God Bless You Brother, Keep your head up 😥
🥺😭 god help all these families get their loved ones back to their resting place
And remember to bury them 6 ft under. 2:02, they weren't actually buried.
@@freshstart4423 that's because down in Louisiana they can't bury them 6 feet under. The ground is too soggy that deep and the caskets would immediately fill with water. That's why most are above ground or in shallow graves. It's unfortunate that the floods displace them as well though. 😔😢🙏🏽
Human beings being what we all should be everyday.
I love David's reporting. He finds the heart in tradgedy.
I agree...😥💛 Rest In Peace continuously Ms. Mortem
Yes he does!
People in Louisiana can be racist and nasty to one another, but they know right from wrong. In a situation like that, your enemy probably would offer help first or someone you'd least suspect. God bless both of these men for doing what is right...for grandson wanting to reburying his grandmother and for the other man being kind enough to help. I grew up in Louisiana, and this is what I knew, saw and lived. It will always be my first love.
Very heartfelt, and good people and racist people are everywhere, I don’t doubt more racist people are down south, but you can find areas in NY that you would confuse for Louisiana or Alabama if they’re weren’t mountains. I witnessed a man be called the N word and then the white guy who said it got pushed around and kicked out of the store by 2 other white guys that instantly called him out.
Never met a racist from Louisiana and I know Louisanna. Sad people stereotype Southerners.
@@markwilliford4567
I feel just as you do. It happens way too much. It’s a shame that people can be so ignorant.
The very best to you my friend!!
🇺🇸Grandpa🇺🇸
I don’t believe for one second your from Louisiana talking bad about it like that. Especially considering it’s the first thing you bring up in a comment. You going off of stereotypes and not speaking a single fact. Grow tf up and stop lying
Chile that's all over the world
This is what the racies should be doing embracing not shooting each other. God bless America
The vast majority of violence is committed against members of the same race. White on white, black on black. Actual racism is much more rare than people like to believe.
My wife family live in Louisiana. We went to visit and i was so amazed how much her auntie cooked and wanted to feed us. Went to Walmart and the cashier was so nice. Hotel clerk was nice. People down there have a different type of loving hearts. Im from Indianapolis. So i wasn't used to that type kindness and love from others.
Sad and Beautiful at the same time 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Praying for the Families
We need more of this in the world and less politics
so you can live comfy in your bliss bubble??
@@Arltratlo nah it’s because they like to make it seem like good doesn’t exist in the world
Amen God Bless , getting her back to where she’s supposed to be.
That’s so sad. I hope they are still resting.
For them not to have seen each other in over thirty years, I'm not to sure this was just a coincidence more like a divine intervention. Out of all the coffins that popped up hers was the only one that landed on his property. Let God's name be praised. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Nobody but God
I can't even imagine how you feel when you're told that your mother's casket washed ashore somewhere. No words.
Beautiful.. childhood friends… amazing. Much love and respect ✊🏽
I used to work at a funeral home, and this is just one of the reasons I’ve told my family I want to be cremated. When you bury someone, you put them in a box to rot. And natural disasters can do bring caskets back up 🙄
Exactly, my Mom was just cremated and we have her urn surrounded by flowers and pictures. We used direct cremation and all together her cremation and urn were only 1,500$!
I agree, we need to stop burying the dead. Cremate everyone.
@@jaklg7905 yes!!!
As a researcher, genealogists, and human being, this breaks my heart. I hope this man and all the families are able to put their loved one's to rest again. Including those that may not have a family to claim them. So sad.
This happened a lot during Katrina 16 yrs ago.
ITS TRULY A BLESSING EVERYTHING THATS GOING ON THAT PEOPLE CAN STILL COME TOGETHER HELPING ONE ANOTHER SOMETIMES ITS TAKES SOMETHING BAD TO BRING SOMETHING GOOD!!! THANKS FOR SHARING THIS AMAZING STORY!!!
I can't imagine how these families feel seeing there loved ones caskets on the shore. This has happened during many hurricanes. They need to buy the caskets deeper. I live in a state where we don't have hurricanes and the caskets are buried 6 feet under.
Many cemeteries in south LA are above ground bc the water table is too high or the cities are below sea level like New Orleans. Cannot go deeper with our burials here bc we chance hitting the water table. That’s why their cemeteries are called Cities of the Dead in Nola. You can bet a lot of these caskets are from above ground cemeteries.
Oh wow. I didn’t realize the cemeteries in that area are “above ground”. That’s makes sense. I was watched the video but clearly didn’t understand lol. 🥴
@@angelicjacobs9983 hard to tell since the flood waters rolled in. If I wasn’t from LA, I wouldn’t prolly know about these cemeteries, except for the ones in Nola. People know more about them bc they are also tourist attractions.
That was so SAD, when he told HIM he would HELP him
Now *this* is good journalism.
Heartbreaking.
This is so sweet when he said he would help put grandma back 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Aww bless his heart
That's what we do in Louisiana. We help each other and treat each other like family.
That poor old Granny that made me cry as soon as soon as he cried I lost it. Wow what a great story
Back in the Late 60’s a relative had to go to New Orleans after a Hurricane. There was talk of relocating graves in low lying areas to areas further north, on higher ground. Shuttles would run to these new cemeteries. Wondering what happened to that plan?
Beyond touching.
Jehovah remembers your grandmother, every detail, as a beautiful

Their pain... I'm so sorry.
air pockets? i have never heard of this happening before. are they halfassed burying folks there?!
It’s hard to bury a body here. Water table is so high, it just floats back up in a different spot. So we bury our dead in mini mausoleums. Houses of the dead. Pretty gross, hun?
One word my friend, cremation.
because the casket is air tight, when surrounded by water it will float. Nothing to do with how it's buried but the sturdy construction of the casket. It's doing what it was built to do.
@@bighousewoody you might be correct elsewhere, but not in Southeast Louisiana. It’s the concrete vault that floats up to release the casket. Folks aren’t buried in the ground here for the same reason there aren’t any basements here. A what?! A basement!?
@@nancywhitty7072 So you're saying a body can't go 6' in the ground
@@m42037 that's what I'm saying. New Orleans is below sea level. It's like a bowl here. No one gets buried under ground unless in a concrete vault. And no one has a basement. That would be called a swimming pool 😁
