His defensive ceiling is unreal. Much different kind of defender than Embiid, but still the potential to be DPOY. Just a really modern switchable defender that can potentially shut down anyone.
Offensive he is still raw but once he is fully developed this guy will kill it for many years.
his offense is raw in terms of perimeter skills/shooting and even then you can see his flashes, he has amazing footwork and patience to get to his spots down low it gets overshadowed cause he gets pushed off his spots easily sometimes. Couple years when that handle/jumper and his body fills out my fucking god he is an MVP and multiple DPOY caliber player imo
I'm not comparing the players but their personality, mobley reminds me of Tim Duncan a little silent, out of the spotlight, but on court he makes a lot of noise, for sure ecan mobley goes far I love to see him play.

I was thinking the SAME thing bro. As soon as I saw how calm his demeanor was and doesn’t try anything fancy even planting his feet before shooting. The fundamental def show. Tim Duncan vibes all the way even in the face.

imagine if somehow Sexton is traded for D-Mitchell. DG, DM, Mobley and Allen would be the bet young core in the league....id argue the cavs CURRENTLY have the best core. Ochai is gonna turn some heads and surprise ppl too. He was a good college player, but fits the NBA even better

Rooting for this kid. Hope he has a great career. Reminds me a little of my all-favorite, Tim Duncan.
Numbers might not say it but Mobley was the best player on the Cavs last year and the main reason they were competitive. He does everything you ask of a big and everything you don’t ask of a big too. Gets back on D, Runs the floor, his playmaking in the high post to run the offense kindve like Joker, guards the perimeter and I mean he’s really out there guarding, protects the rim, nice mid range. You name it he does it. Now he needs to work on his low post game to become a superstar and when that happens that’s when this team truly becomes SCARY!
He literally played and defended 1-5 all year against all sorts of teams. There were numerous times where he LOCKED up lead guards like Trae Young in isolation. He lead the league in contested shots as a rookie. He brought the ball up the court here and there and initiated the offense....I think we will see more of him initiating tbh.
He is about 7'1 in shoes how.....7'5 armspan...runs like a dear, handles like a point forward, uses both hands for every aspect of the game, drills big shots on all 3 levels, can tear apart defenses with his vision like Jokic and his turnaround is automatic and UNGUARDABLE.
Two years from now, I GAURANTEE you that Evan Mobley's turnaround from both sides of the low, mid and high posts, over either shoulder, glass or no glass, will be one of the most notorious shots in the league. He nails that against any type of defender. He only hits them BETTER the more pressure there is and the later it is in the game.
People brag about him, but he is still SLEPT ON. His IQ, composure, intangibles, fundamentals and killer instinct is almost unseen at his size. His mentality is a mix of Dwyane Wade and Tim Duncan.
On top of all that, I bet you he wins at least two DPOYs. In my opinion, he should have been a top-5 candidate LAST YEAR for DPOY.
The two plays he had against Indiana at 8:14 really show his play-making ability is rather advanced for his age. The ball fake to open up the lane was well sold and the lob to Dean Wade was just *chef’s kiss* perfection.
Seeing Evan Mobley at the 4 is nice to see ever since the trend of small ball 4s. An actual versatile and skilled big man at his position. The run and gun small ball 4 is very tiring to watch sometimes but it is what it is.

The Cavaliers have one of the best young teams in the league, if they keep their young core (Garland, Okoro, Mobley) in 2-3 years their gonna be a top team in the East. Edit::: Darius is one of the best passer in the league🔥🔥
I mean probably not lol. Just because they get better doesn't mean other teams get worse. Giannis will still be there. Celtics will still have their core, Raptors aren't old, Detroit will look different in 2-3 years.
And Okoro won't be a valuable piece if he can't develop a better shot. If he's in his fifth season and can't shoot then he'll just be a role player most likely, not a star

@@markmoore618 You only named 4 teams lol but, you’re right. Detroit is a team full of second year players and rookies. The way Garland developed this season is promising, and unless Mobley gets injured, he can only get better. If they can keep the same team, as early as this year, I see them being a top 5 seed. They were only 4 games behind the 5th seed last year so 🤷🏽♂️ we’ll just have to see.

If he drops any where around 17 to 20 ppg then the league should be scared
If he can improve from the 3 and free throw line he could average anywhere between 20-25 ppg.

That's not really realistic, especially given Lebron's extension. But they will have enough cap to sign Wiggins if he comes available next offseason. Not Lebron, but he would be an excellent fit and give them a stupid good starting 5.

Great player, especially in defense, will grab rebounds & will block you almost 2 times a game. Offensively definitely not a 3-point shooter (25%), but good FG-% (50.8)

He's aight, decent jumper, good rim protector, pretty good on the block going to his right so that's all cool but he has to get way better. He's still young with room to grow, and hopefully he has the drive and determination to get better.
