Apparently, in the past, servants would have to catch crayfish for their Master, even in winter - and in that frozen season the crayfish dig deep into the mud. So this was a freezing and unpleasant task - even dangerous with the icy water. 🦞💤❄☃🌨🥶 A suitable threat.
