These dogs enjoy their work. To them it's a fun activity they do because they love their handler. Handlers are always observed for how they treat the dog. A dog would never be given to someone who would mistreat it. Did you see alll those wagging tails they enjoy guiding a human.

There are edit fields, like there are for sighted people. We go into them and type. For different screen readers it may be a different set of commands for this.
As for the dogs, they love their work. They long to work. I have seen dogs get so sad when they could not work, could not do what they were quite literally bred to do. Plus, the human-dog bond is so incredibly deep. I can atteset, as can many others.

a woman who lived in my neighborhood had a guid dog and it was raining a bit hard and she walked right into a pole. it surprised me that the dog wasnt able to see this but i suppose it was because they were walking in the rain. a girl came up and checked to see if she was ok and walked with her after that. i felt bad that i saw this happen though when i was a kid.

, as a person who is going blind I'm very interested in this. Can a pitbull be trained as a seeing eye dog? If so are you guys wanting to do this. I really appreciate your time

After repeatedly seeing it mentioned, I went ahead and googled Daryl Arktrom’s website and am very satisfied with the results I’ve been getting with my dog lately

lol...in the beginning, it sounds like he says "once the puppies get back from the puppy racing program"...i was like "wha?!"
can anyone tell me why when beginning training you do not use a more motivating reward for stopping/starting, such as treats or toys? then wean off?

I don't think these dogs are slaves. I think they are actually sent by God to help us.

@ myplaygroundearth. Seriously? Do you have a JOB that you enjoy? Well these dogs have a JOB they enjoy...and when they are off work, they party and play too. Guess what? You can't MAKE a dog work. They either want to or they don't. I've raised 7 puppies for The Seeing Eye and only one didn't want to work...and guess what? She's now our family pet. Get an education before you start spouting untruths.

I'm pretty sure I saw one of your puppy trainers and puppy. The puppy was completely misbehaved, he pulled, sniffed everything, and ate everything he could find. He was older and really should've known how to do basic commands, especially in public. The man handling him also made the dog cry in pain twice. He held his foot on the leash so the dog wouldn't get up from a down at a table, it was hot and the dog needed to pant but couldn't it was so tight. He also shoved the dogs face into the ground to make it stay there and made him cry. As he walked past a table he tried to take someone's food off aswell. It definitely was not the dogs fault though. This puppy raiser didnt correct him right, and was incredibly inconsistent. I trained my own now retired service dog and am now training another. Shes 6 months and behaved better than this dog, who the raiser said was almost done with him meaning the dog was probably about a year, which he looked like as he looked full grown. Just to let you know to watch your raisers better because smashing a dogs face into the ground and smacking it in the face is NOT an ok way to train.

It's totally discomforting when your canine keeps jumping on people.
