Curve tilts the car into the bend like a motorcycle. So if you're going through a sweeping left turn, it leans into it by lowering the left side air struts and raising the right side air struts. You can actually see it doing it if you drive behind it. It means that the occupants and driver feel far less g forces and the body roll is basically zero. I am surprised they did not tell you that when you collected it. It is one of their best features right now.

Loved this review. The GLS550 is an amazing looking SUV especially in the exterior color in this review. GLS550 is better looking than its competitors. How's the steering feel when this SUV is not in sport mode?
Nice review!! This is definitely a wonderful vehicle, but if I had to choose between the MB GLS and the BMW X7, I would go for the BMW based on the styling. To me it looks better. (What is his name??)

Curve mode is when the car is outfitted with the E-active body control and will lean into the corners like a motorcycle.
From seeing other reviews that also makes the car handle a little bit better.

We just test drive the 2022 GLS 450. Absolutely loved it. Went to check out GLE 580 but when I wife saw the GLS, she is more interested in getting the GLS. My dealer says that there are no GLS 580 in 2022 or they are not making it due to chip shortage. Is that true. I prefer the V8. Also, MSRP on 450 was 88k including the options it had, but they were asking 20k premium on it. That’s just nuts! I am not in a rush, why would I pay the premium, I’ll wait and May be get the 2023 end of the year.

When Benz can offer Tires that last longer than 20,000 miles their SUV’s will truly be worth the money. We have a GL-550 and the tires are rated 20,000 miles and Benz suggest the tires are specially formulated.
@John Burns: I didn’t know Mercedes Benz also made tires! Where did you get those Mercedes branded tires? First world problem. The GLS 550 (last gen) came with 21” 295 width tires, problem is not that many cars sold today have that size tire, only one or two or perhaps three manufacturers (Pirelli, Continental, Bridgestone, maybe Michelin ) bothered to make them for this market of perhaps 10-20 thousand units sold a year, in other words, almost not worth the development costs compared to the more generic sizes that they can sell millions of units per year. Tough reality, but those are the facts. 6,000 lbs vehicle, tough market.

Damn I think you should have mentioned Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator, less money, not as well equipped... still a valid statement those two are in the segment especially if your going to mention the Lexus which is older than time.
How tall are you ? for us to know on each levels of seats you sit on to differ your head room...

Love this car. But it is perfect in the GLS400d version with their new inline 6 diesel with 335hp and a whopping 520 foot pounds of torque.
Mercedes has become just like Landrover/ Range Rover . The designers are too lazy to make each vehicle unique in design . They all look the same especially the front ends. The cars are the same. Why is the fender trim flush on the front and sticks out on the rear ?
