This is unironically one of my favorite scenes of the entire show. Just seeing him go step by step through his morning routine is so comforting in the middle of an otherwise high adrenaline anime. It's like hitting the save state in a Resident Evil game.
This, and the scene where the Hayakawa family (aki, power, *dennis* ) all eat a bunch of takeout and just… laugh together. It’s so nice for all of them, really. *Dennis,* Power/Meowmy finally have a safe place to eat and call home and Aki has his little sibling family again.
Ah yes, chainsaw guy, a quiet, peaceful slice of life anime that follows a young lumberjack, his two friends and their relationship with their boss. Not to be confused with chainsaw man, a very different kind of show
a subtle detail i think is so sweet is that denji's toast setup is a lot tidier, and aki gave him a cup of coffee for his breakfast. they're slowly making room for each other in their lives.

A slice of life anime with this kind of art style though would be really cool. Most of that kind of genre has very brightly colored, super cartoonish, exaggerated style, but if we got a slice of life with art similar to Chainsaw Man with it's more horror-esque appearance, semi realistic color and lighting, I think that'd be pretty sweet. Just a chill, kinda terrifying looking anime about the daily live of some weirdo and his two adopted teens.

And this is why chainsaw man is my all time favorite manga/anime adaptation. Its so efficiently paced, even scenes like this are airtight, no filler, it just tells you everything about who Aki and Denji are by their weekend routines. And I love how despite their differences, Denji and Aki actually make good roommates, until power shows up at least

Definitely not a slice of life anime, but glad other people are appreciating the animation as much as I do! My boyfriend doesn't understand what I'm so excited about when we're watching this anime, I can't help but fangirl every time I see some good quality animation and illustrations, that's why I absolutely love watching ghibli studios movies.

You can tell Aki's life revolves only in reaching his goal. His apartment is almost spotless, like no one lives there, especially his bedroom, which has only the alarm clock. The first time he has "fun" in his life is when Denji and Power become part of his life. Not even Himeno really changed his life that much. It's heartbreaking. Manga readers will know what I'm talking about.
I dunno, dude puts a lot of effort into his coffee. Expensive goose-neck kettle, hand-ground beans, fancy wooden grinder. That's not an empty life, just a sparse one.
Makes me wonder how good Chainsaw man could be as a slice of life. Just imagine all the classic tropes with the characters going to school, swimming, celebrating the mc's birthday for the first time, going on a vacation to Hokkaido and perhaps having a snowball fight there or an aquarium visit in a classic romance anime!

It's animations like these that make me appreciate the beauty of pleasantly mundane morning routines. Sometimes, it's nice to have a break from the action and yelling. Like, tell me you wouldn't want a morning routine like this-
It reminds me of Shingu: Secret of the Stellar Wars. Well, Chainsaw Man is a bit more violent, but at the same time, both are very much about appreciating the every day and the normal in the face of insanity or despair and war.

Mine is just close enough. I don't drink coffee, only tea and warm water. What you consider as mundane is a luxury here. Not many people have the pleasure to brew for themselves a decent cup of coffee for the morning. Most people here would just buy something sth to eat during their way to school/work. Life in general is just too hustle.
In the hustle and bustle of life, with or without devils running rampant, its often the small and simple things that bring us a bit of peace of mind. It can't counter or remedy some of the hardest blows we might take down the road (iykyk), but they give us a means to endure. We can always fall back to simple routine.

HOW DID IT TAKE ME UNTIL DENJI WALKING PAST TO REALISE IT WAS CHAINSAW MAN, IVE SEEN THIS ANIME LIKE TWICE NOW BECAUSE ITS SO GOOD AND I STILL FORGET THIS SCENE
The fact that CSM story takes place in the late 90's, make the environment and scenes cooler. I remember some of the tech and car designs from the show. Aki is brewing his coffee old school. No facy coffee machine. And there is also that about their dates of birth. Dennis would be 43 in the current year, Aki 45 - 46, and Himeno 48.
I think the 90s is a great setting for modern stories in general. It removes the intensley digital aspect of stories that are set in the present without losing the modern feel. It's narratively freeing imo.
A great animation and depiction of normal life of some normal human being, and absence of music makes it brutalistic, just sounds he makes and sounds of city, pure perfection ☺️
This scene does a great job in showing the contrast between the two characters, yet they found a way here to live together peacefully and in acceptance of each other and their differences

Having only heard about this show, I got curious and just watched the trailer..Man it's gory!! You'd never think such a bloody show would have such a calm, mundane scene as this. I'm positive I won't be watching the anime but will definitely be rewatching this slice-of-life moment for its simply amazing quality of animation. Just look at the water and the reflection on it :O

Those who are wondering, the anime is 'Chainsaw Man' which is a work of the same studio that worked for Vinland Saga, Hell's Paradise, Jujutsu Kaisen and ofc Attack On Titan. As per my opinion, Chainsaw Man manga is definitely one of the best out there, though it's NOT a slice of life AT ALL 😂.

The fact that CSM story takes place in the late 90's, make the environment and scenes cooler. I remember some of the tech and car designs from the show. Aki is brewing his coffee old school. No facy coffee machine. And there is also that about their dates of birth. Dennis would be 43 in the current year, Aki 45 - 46, and Himeno 48.
I think the 90s is a great setting for modern stories in general. It removes the intensley digital aspect of stories that are set in the present without losing the modern feel. It's narratively freeing imo.

This scene does a great job in showing the contrast between the two characters, yet they found a way here to live together peacefully and in acceptance of each other and their differences

Having only heard about this show, I got curious and just watched the trailer..Man it's gory!! You'd never think such a bloody show would have such a calm, mundane scene as this.
I'm positive I won't be watching the anime but will definitely be rewatching this slice-of-life moment for its simply amazing quality of animation. Just look at the water and the reflection on it :O

Those who are wondering, the anime is 'Chainsaw Man' which is a work of the same studio that worked for Vinland Saga, Hell's Paradise, Jujutsu Kaisen and ofc Attack On Titan. As per my opinion, Chainsaw Man manga is definitely one of the best out there, though it's NOT a slice of life AT ALL 😂.
They did not need to go so hard for a two minute segment of Aki’s morning routine.
