I met my husband early in college, we built together, in our early 30's we got babies, 3 boys, I was a stay at home from day 1. Wonderful times. We have always had a very busy social life, have lots of things in common like our sons, family, friends, travel, business etc. We, me included, just always valued and enjoyed all that healthy stuff more than stepping out with random people. As a man who tried the single mom bit, trust me it doesn't work out generally. She cheated on me and made me out to be the bad one in the situation... The reason it is a big loss is because I loved her and then also consequently developed a bond with the children and when we broke up I lost her and the kids. it is a double loss for the man. Also like Myron said the man can't properly raise the children or discipline them his way without trouble. Some women will give the man a little more room to do certain disciplinary actions and or help develop the child's growth, however usually it is the case that the man will always be an outsider or not be fully accepted into the situation.
If you guys want a non successful woman as a partner for life and eventual mother to your children go ahead. To me that is dumb and a waste of potential for future generations. I'm an engineer and my wife is a lawyer. We make good money, bought our house, saved close to a mil in investments and that is before hitting 30. Had I done that alone it would not have been as smooth and would have taken longer. We are now expecting our first child and are futher in life than majority of people, while having a stable home with optimal enviroment for our children. Maybe it's an american thing to not care about your partners education and occupation, however it is a proven fact that having an educated and smart partner is better for a successful life with a family.
A financially successful woman doesn't mean she'll be a good mother. It just means she can afford more material items and access to better schools and programs. Most successful parents outsource a lot of their parental duties because they work long hours. Just because you can buy things for your kids doesn't make you better parents. If you guys want a non successful woman as a partner for life and eventual mother to your children go ahead. To me that is dumb and a waste of potential for future generations. I'm an engineer and my wife is a lawyer. We make good money, bought our house, saved close to a mil in investments and that is before hitting 30. Had I done that alone it would not have been as smooth and would have taken longer. We are now expecting our first child and are futher in life than majority of people, while having a stable home with optimal enviroment for our children. Maybe it's an american thing to not care about your partners education and occupation, however it is a proven fact that having an educated and smart partner is better for a successful life with a family.

A financially successful woman doesn't mean she'll be a good mother. It just means she can afford more material items and access to better schools and programs. Most successful parents outsource a lot of their parental duties because they work long hours. Just because you can buy things for your kids doesn't make you better parents. Myron is just saying he prefers a competent motherly woman as the mother of his children over a career woman that probably won't be.
