wow! the things families can do in this park.huge!!this has to be in the top 3.the view of the ocean. you can't beat it.what an awesome job you guys do showing us these parks.i look forward to the next one.thanks for what you do.
Thank you Dee and Lee, for this video. I grew up not far from here and spent many happy hours at Rocky Neck, camping with my family in a big army tent. My brothers used to crab in that same spot on the marsh. The sand is the softest in the state, I think. As kids, whenever we heard the train, we would run under the stone trestle and yell as it rumbled overhead. You had some tough weather, sorry about the side awning! Thanks again for the tour of my childhood. Safe and happy travels!
A great tour as always. I'm following along in the map. So many parks, so little time. One suggestion, this, like other parks, has several different sections. It would help to mention the section you are in and include in the site number, as all the sections have the same site numbers. Thanks again for a great tour. Keep 'em comin'.
This place is one of my favorite locations. It’s clean, well kept, the beach is great, the lots are great and the location is tops. I miss my home in south eastern CT so much.
That’s awesome , you can’t beat those amazing unforgettable moments with your children .. Thx for watching and commenting Steve, we sincerely appreciate it. Thx again
Was wondering if you had a chance to check out campsites L-I and M-P where the bike path is to the beach. My boyfriend and I just booked it for September and there are no pictures.
I just started watching your videos a short time ago. As a Ct resident i no all the places you guys stayed at . Especially Kettletown state park because we live abut a half hour away from there. I haveent been there since i was a teenager about 40 years ago. After your video about the park me and my wife went there this past weekend and i had an incredible dai ja vou feeling walking through there. My question to you folks is whats your deal? Im so envious of your lifestyle and want to be able to do the same traveling. How did Dee and Lee accomplish the lifestyle im so jealous of? Maybe make a video sometime on how this came about. Safe travels and thanks for the Ct videos.
John ,Lee says you win the award for best comment of the season lol. Thanks so much , we truly appreciate you watching and subscribing. We really love hearing that you and your wife were able to enjoy the weekend together at KETTLETOWN. You made our night. We SORT of explain why and how we started in last weeks episode but we WILL do an episode regarding it in detail VERY SOON. .. hint hint. Lol. John we only live once and we don’t want to have any regrets when it’s all said and done so enjoying each other’s company and exploring this country is extremely important to us at this point of our lives . As Lee says ( we took the but out of it ) and just went for it .. thx again for the awesome comment and we hope you can find time to go enjoy yourselves more often ✌🏽❤️
There aren’t any truly private sites here. Some are more distant than most but that’s about it. Maybe 3-4 sites tops ,had a small amount of seclusion ..
We are Connecticut locals, and this is still our favorite campground. After you guys camped there, still so surprised you favor Wilderness Lakes, which is such a dump in comparison. And the sites are well spaced apart, contrary to your review.
Lol , I guess you haven’t watched our vid nor have you ever camped at wilderness lake as of recent huh. As we stated it’s been improved, upgraded and updated. We’ve been to over 500 campgrounds and wilderness lake has made a big impression on us AND OTHERS/ OUR VIEWERS with dozens that have visited and feel as we do. Also there is a HUGE difference between a state park and privately owned campground. Again as we told you prior, we like Rocky Neck BUT we love wilderness lake. From customer service, to the private campsites , unlike the wide open field of a campground Rocky Neck , so on and so forth. As we state in all our videos ( our site and campground choices are subjective) right. So please, as the saying goes ( if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all). Thx for the ridiculously condescending passive aggressive uncalled for comments . It helps with the algorithm. Lololol. Have the night you deserve buddy. 👍🏽
Hey! We luv ourselves some Dee & Lee! We have an SUV tent off the back of my wrangler. Like getting into those cozy secluded nature spots you point out. We went to one of your suggested sites on the pond at Natures Campground (Voluntown) and boy was it spectacular!! In this video here, you showed a site 15 but not what section it is in. Was it Heron perhaps? Looking for places to camp in CT or near border now off season I guess. (After 10/15) any suggestions? Pupper friendly 🐾🐾? Thank you in advance! Keep making those vids! See ya on the trail some time. 👍🏻
@@deeandleeintheirrv1299 OK cool. I haven't been there in a very long time. I think we lost our home on 1sapia drive and moved to New London Connecticut when I was maybe 14? I'm 49 now and waxing nostalgic BIG TIME! I remember rocky neck as being the rockiest beach ever! Hence the name. I could be wrong because I never cramped there! I wish I had!
@@batcatowler1972 it’s never to late. They open up in may for camping and the recreational area is still open if you’d like to relieve those childhood memories. Thx for watching and commenting. ✌🏽❤️
I seriously do not understand your "lack of privacy" comments. This campground has some of the most widely spaced sites i have ever camped on. Plus huge grassy lots that are larger than most suburban house plots which stretch beyond the sites. Seriously...you can't beat Rocky Neck for a campground.
We get it, You like Rocky neck, as do we ,BUT ,we like wilderness lake better. It isn’t personal bud, it’s all subjective as we say in all our vids. Plus to us if you can see and hear your neighbors conversations then that’s close, bottom line. Remember the old expression ,( don’t knock it until you’ve tried it) Go to wilderness lake then get back to us. AGAIN, it’s all subjective. Have a better day buddy.

Love Rocky Neck!! Wish you had better weather though to enjoy the beach 🏖️. Keep it coming guys

same! I moved to southern Maryland and the beaches don't compare. I miss New London! I miss Rocky Neck!
The slate grey sky was so beautiful with the approaching storm. Love the combo of beach and woods! You were such good sports about the weather!

@@deeandleeintheirrv1299 Thankyou you so much for your kind reply.❤️ PS .... looking forward to new video reviews.
What section of the park was that "private" site 15 in?
Crane section 👍🏽👍🏽
Are you sure that “private” 15 isn’t in Heron section?

Fire rings twenty yards from the site? Someone needs a math refresher 😂

You're showing hole in the wall beach in the picture. Unless that's now part of Rocky neck now. It was not many years ago.
Hi! It may look similar to hole in the wall since both go under the tracks but If you watch the video it’s the entrance by the pavilion
