Thanks for sharing. I feel less alone after watching this. My epilepsy got me down for so many years. I lost 3 jobs, my driving licence 3 times, lost 2 friends to epilepsy. But after i lost the 3rd job it made me determined to achieve my lifelong dream of becoming an author, writing my book Jo's hidden secrets which raises money for charities close to my heart and make it into epilepsy information packs for schools
I cried watching this this morning when I woke up. It encapsulates epilepsy beautifully. I just showed this to my wife (who I thank god for every day) and she was crying. Epilepsy affects loved ones as well. Once again, masterful video, I hope more get to see this.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us. We’re so moved to hear that the film resonated with you and your wife. Epilepsy does affect not only those who live with it but also their loved ones, and we truly hoped to capture that emotional journey. Please if you can share this video and help us to make epilepsy visible in 2025 💜
A good film. Relate to the tingling, waking up unable to speak, but knowing something is different, not knowing where you are. Checking what is damaged, unable to move or speak at first. And then the tears as the you see the bruises, thinking "it's happened again". A massive tiredness, and start the long haul to dust yourself down, and get back on that horse (literally), yet again.
A great film, certainly can relate to some of it. Thank you and well done 💜 Reminds me of the poetry book I've just finished about my epilepsy. However, it's not just about the seizures I've had, but the day to day living with the side effects of it. Must get it published.
Thank you for sharing that with us. It means the world to know that the film brought you some peace, even in such an emotional way. You’re not alone in this, and we’re so glad we could offer something that resonated with you. Please if you can share this video and help us to make epilepsy visible in 2025 💜
Well done on covering some key aspects of certain types of seizures to give insight to how experiencing an Epileptic seizure can be described by those who have them. I have a film in my mind's eye from decades of lived experience of seizures. Far less sugar coated and more gritty graphic and dramatic. I'd love to make it a powerful short film. I was interviewed for one, signed and returned the consent form but never heard from the grant recipient director again.
Thank you for your feedback. While one person’s experience of epilepsy may be vastly different from another’s, both are valid. The diversity of experiences within the epilepsy community is immense, and it’s vital that we acknowledge and respect that. It’s true, no one film, story, or portrayal can ever fully encapsulate every aspect of living with epilepsy, because the condition affects people in so many different ways. That said, the more we can share different perspectives, the more we can build understanding and empathy. 💜
