Thanks Roger! Had no idea I could use my Linnstrument and MPC with MPE!! You’ve given me an early Christmas present with this knowledge I truly appreciate it! 🙏
Roger, I have used my MPC60 on multiple records, including some songs that have charted. I think it's one of the best designed electronic instruments ever made. I want to like my MPC Live, but they really got so much wrong that made the MPC work fast, and the new 3.0 update completely broke what, in my opinion, makes an MPC. Thank you for the introduction to electronic production that I never knew I needed in my early teens. You are a legend, and I hope to get a Linnstrument soon...
MPC v3 is more DAW-like, which I think is a good thing. But it's always hard when an update moves things around. V3 is still in beta. I'd say give Akai some time and they'll work out the rough edges.
Yay! You’re back! I love your videos. I was working on Linn drums last night in awe of how wonderful it sounds. ❤❤❤ thank you for your amazing contribution to music. You’re my favorite
Oh I should also say on an MPC. I was sent samples from my Music prod school. And I was making drum kits out of them. I think I have to call my MPC, Mr Linn

Hello Roger my name is Terry. In the early 90's I was invited to your beautiful mansion in Santa Cruz. You were dating Pat from La. Pat's son was named David. Work shop was big with mulit projects. You made history. Oh I forgot about the Apt above your garage. Great layout !
Great video! 👍 I can see now why Ableton created the Push 3 as it combines elements from both of these devices and it’s made me think about using the MPE functionality more. It wasn’t that I had ignored it, but your explain how to use it has opened my eyes! Thank you 👍
I'm mainly a guitarist n have had the MPC Live II for almost 2 years now. Coming from Ableton Live n Logic Pro and really digging the workflow! Thank you for decades of musical dedication to push the industry forward. My dad worked for Sony for 30 years so miss going to NAMM/CES in person but really enjoying your channel! Great video. You're LinnStrument is for sure a unique interface but super surprised the expressions/tone are similar to guitar bends n slides!
Nice one, there is a typo in the title btw. I like the LinnStrument, it makes me wonder what you would think of the Ableton Push 3, which has onboard MPE instruments in the Standalone version but also can be used to control the DAW with MPE. Maybe Ableton should send you one :) I'm even more curious about your take on the recent workflow overhaul of the MPC 3 OS beta, as it represents a significant shift in the legacy MPC workflow.
Thanks for letting me know about the typo-- just fixed it. Ableton did send me a standalone Push and they did a great job. I don't think I'd make a video about it through; I made the MPC video because it was originally my design. Regarding the MPC OS 3, it certainly adds many useful features and brings it closer to being a DAW replacement. It's still in beta, so they're still refining it.
I pray that you and Akai can do a remake of the MPC 3000 the old sound with a modern twist. if Rossum can do the sp1200 over then I know Akai and you Roger can do this.
@@CMedia87 Thanks for your suggestion, but to be honest I’ve never been so interested in the past. When I made the MPC, it was the future. These days I’m more interested in my LinnStrument, which I believe is the future.

@@catoninetails789 Yes. For example if you want 6-note polyphony, you would assign LinnStrument to send 6 Per-Note MIDI Channels (perhaps channels 2 - 7), then also create 6 tracks in the MPC, each receiving on one of those same 6 MIDI channels.
Wow-- thanks for all the kind comments.
Thank you for being a pioneer of electronic expression.
Thank you for being the reason we have the best sounding electronic instruments ever. 🫡
Your music sounds amazing and does not sound dated at all btw ❤
Ur a legend. Most legends are gone or just don’t interact anymore. Keep it up man we love hearing from you.
im over here painting a house. took a break, saw Roger Linn, instant click🤣
To have roger on youtube feels like a gift to us all!
You are a legend Roger thank you for blessing us MPC folk 🥹

You also invented the Ableton Push (though you may not have heard) which uses your MPC concepts combined with your LinnStrument.
I take that as a high compliment by Ableton.

This video is very helpful in getting the most out of the MPC with your LinnStrument. Thanks for sharing Roger!
such a great teacher. legend i just bought one of these linny's thanks for the black friday sale.

It is so dope to see you doing this, Mr. Linn! And, that beat is not “dated”… it’s straight🔥🔥🔥
I’m definitely interested. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 thanks Mr Linn
Me too! It seems like the missing arm of the MPC
It’s always a pleasure to watch your tutorials. Thanks for sharing and Happy Holidays!

Well this had got to be a sly hint!! Linnstrument style new mpc confirmed!
Excellent! 🎹👍🏻
General Linn 🫡✌🏽
THANKS ROG
I need Roger to start selling beats on BeatStars 😮 Dope
If Roger was to drop his own line drum samplers/workstation. I don't think Akai would be in business But ,I think Akai got to him! SHOOT!
Peace Roger.
I hope Akai brings MPE to the new MPCs & Force 2 (if they ever made one).
MPE on the mpc.. oof 💪🏽
Nice
Maybe Akai will add proper MPE support in the future 🤞

Roger, please contact either Novation or the guys over at DSI/Sequential and see about finally getting user sample import on the Tempest drum machine!
Roger , What do you feel about the " OS3 " new daw like operating system ? i simply will not use use it , i will stick to MPC OS2 .

@@XanderEwald I’ve given Akai some suggestions, but my focus is on my LinnStrument keyboard that I show in the video.
Is it possible to use more than 3 MIDI channels in MPE mode with MPC?
Sure. MPE permits up to 15 simultaneous touches. Please see this page “What is MPE?”:

@rogerlinndesign to use more than 3 I would have to create more tracks, right?
